Just the opposite. Food that digests very quickly promotes weight gain... Things like sugars and starches. The longer food takes to digest the more stable your metabolism will be and ideally promote weight loss. You'll feel full longer, essentially eat less, and have more energy in the long run.

This is the idea behind the Glycemic Index diet.

foods that are rapidly digested such as simple sugars promote fat storage.
