I've never had any excercise equipment, but I want to tone my body without getting bulkey and lose weight at home. What type or brand should I look at purchasing??

Don't lift weight's just do lots of arobics. You will look really fit, do lots of walking, not unless you want to work out your heart then i suggest jogging, walking burns just as many calories as jogging just to let you know. Eat right, you just dont want to lose weight that means you are losing muscle as well, you want to burn fat to make you look really tone so eat lots of protein , chicken, eggs, beans, I'm sure you can tell the difference between good food and bad. Eating the protein will make it were you do not burn of your muscle just the fat. Best time to do arobics is in the morning right when you wake up because you have a empty stomach and it's can't get any energy from there and start's working a lot faster. Well best of luck.

best is a very subjective word. it depends on what your short/long term goals are. how much room you have for exercise equipment, your budget, etc. there are many factors.
