It's not only about welfare services. The main reason is economic . Illegal immigrants can find means of getting employed in the host countries that offers better wages and they can get away with it since it's a win-win situation too among their employers. Employers hiring illegal immigrants don't have to pay them with minimum rate and are not obliged to provide health and retirement insurance. They can ask them to work beyond 8 hours in any type of work they please. Since they know illegal workers can't complain or seek refuge from the court as they don't have the legal personality to do so. In other word, these illegal workers become exploited while their working visas to make them legal are being processed by thier sponsoring employers.

Of course. The reasons vary based on personal circumstances.

Yes, here's a generalization about the illegal aliens who are from Mexico. Conditions for the poor in southern Mexico in particular are deplorable. And the gov't of Mexico isn't stepping up to address it.

I am sympathetic for the situation.

But I still am not supportive or forgiving of illegal immigration, these are still personal choices that are made, and those personal choices come with consequences. Clearly the have chosen to risk the consequences. And so they must face them.

My first priority will alway be my family #1, and my fellow Americans #2.

Do illegals really want a better life or more money which God do they serve? Illegals use fraud and fake documents again what God are the illegals serving ? Illegals have the highest out wed births in the country again what God do the illegals serve ?.In chapter 13 of the apostle Paul's Letter to the Romans, the English translation reads, "Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore he who resists the authorities resists what God has appointed..." (Romans 13:1-2). Clearly, this is advice to Christians to follow the laws of their nation and to respect the laws of other nations. . .

Although Christianity encourages acts of charity, we cannot be both charitable and law breakers. We cannot rob Peter to pay Paul. The Archbishop of Mexico City should be encouraged to prevent Mexicans from coming illegally to the U. S. He should encourage Mexicans to work for Christian social change in Mexico instead of criticizing U. S. immigration policies. Unless the Mexican state changes, many Mexican citizens will never be able to have a fulfilled life. Nor can they find fulfillment by breaking U. S. immigration laws. To push the poor from your door to your neighbor's door is not an example of Christian charity.

Isn’t it interesting that the left always stresses immigrant rights but never immigrant responsibilities, and conversely, the left always stresses American citizen’s responsibilities to immigrants but never mentions American citizen’s rights?

There are many factors that contribute to illegal immigration. However, here's one factor that contributes to illegal immigration in my local area.
In my perspective, it is increasing because we, as a society, are encouraging illegal immigration. For instance, when "Joe contractor guy" hires a day laborer in front of the corner deli, or a local hangout for day laborers, he is most likely hiring an illegal immigrant that in most cases is not paying taxes. I say, in most cases because there are illegal immigrants who pay taxes in hope of one day becoming legal. However, that same day laborer will spread the word to his friends and relatives that there is a demand for people to work. Therefore, this is contributing to illegal immigration. It's a reality and a case of supply & demand. This is what it comes down to and we do need people to work in construction, delis, restaurants, and a variety of other jobs. So, in my opinion, the day laborers are one of the victims in this situation along with tax payers that have to put up with influx of people to their small town, eye sores, etc.
An interesting fact is that the same hateful people who preach "illegals go home", and "Deport them all" are the same people who hire them in the first place. I believe this hateful path is not the answer, instead we should look at a solution that will work for both sides.

If you hire an ilegal person, you have to pay the minimum wage at least. And of course they have rights, Workmans Compensation dont care if they have or dont have papers. they can make up stories and still be valid. some lawers take advantage of people too, try to defend them. It costed me above 10,000,00 a case that ended no where, and he was illegal and made up the story to a cruck lawer...

A great number of illegals come to this country because they see it as the "land of opportunity", not the "land of 'feebies'". There are good and bad people in any country, but do not make the mistake of classifying every illegal alien who comes here as freebie-seeking, drug-trafficking menaces. There are many citizens of the US who also seek freebies.

Male illegals come here to be able to earn money to send back home to support their families. Take Mexico for example: there is no middle class (I lived there for about 6 months). There is only extreme poverty or wealth. Many American and Candian citizens go to Mexico for the low cost of living. I talked to them about the rent on their spacious living accommodations. A two bedroom with large living area (living/dining) and lg. kitchen costs about $300 American dollars, plus utilities and phone per month. Being hired as a maid or housekeeper will earn a woman about 2 pesos for 4 hours. How many in this country would work for those wages? So we go down there to live {unless you get a special visa which allows you to live year-round} and get a visa which says you must leave the country for at least 24 hrs (at least it did when I was there) every 180 days and then you could come back across the border and get another visa for 90 days.

Many Americans and Canadians go to Mexico to live cheaply while many Hispanics come to the USA to earn money to support their families still in Mexico. Hope this makes one pause and consider the dichotomy of my answer.

Yes...

1) Employers that hire them, in other words jobs..

2) Better standard of living overall

3) Giving their childern Citizenship and the rights that go with it by bearing their children on US soil.

4) Human rights abuses in their own country.

5) We allow them to come here illegally....this is the MAIN factor...Our government has allowed this to happen by NOT enforcing present laws, and by not penalizing employers that hire them...

On # 5, unless our government starts to become more accountable to it's citizens, this will never stop.

Yes, but that still does not make it right. We the citizens have the right to set and enforce our immigration laws for our wants and needs and not the illegals no matter why they come, how hard working they are, or how well intended

Yes, I do agree that the freebies are not the only reasons they come, and I did acknowledge in my first posting. I was assuming in your posting that you wanted to make others aware that there are good reasons why they come, and that makes it okay. Otherwise why would you want us to acknowledge them

Yes. The fact that our government is having a difficult time following and enforcing the immigration laws that we already have. If our current laws were enforced (instead of pushed aside for the leftist liberal agenda), we wouldn't be having this problem. And, YES, I said it's a problem.
