From what I see, they seem to know that evolutionist think that 1) evolution takes billions of years to work, 2) we came from apelike creatures, and 3) it does not need to involve a god designing anything. Also heard lots of lies, saying that evolutionists think that everything just happened by accident (look up natural selection). And if you watched the debate, Kirk Cameron even thought that there being nothing and then there was an explosion and then there was everything (whoever said "at first there was nothing"? most of us go by the fact that matter is neither created nor destroyed) had something to do with evolution. jeez.
so, let me ask you this: can you define what mutation and natural selection (or survival of the fittest) is and tell me how this applies to evolution? and WHY it would take billions and billions of years?
if you can't answer that, then you know nothing about evolution. this is why it is a theory, because theories tell us HOW something happened.

funny how no creationist actually answered my other questions. (by the by, i am aware of the common ancestor thing. jeez).
natural selection and mutation. anyone wanna have a go? define it, and say how it applies.

Most creationists can't even define evolution.

I would like to say first that I do believe in God, though not in God in the way Christians or other religions do. I believe in God and an afterlife not explained by religions, it is still a great mystery. Only the dead know for sure. Evolution does not have to be accidental nor by design. Evolution occurs naturally over time. What if God created the universe with the Big Bang and then he was surprised when the earth was formed? What if a god does not exist? We are the product of the big bang, everything in the universe is. Components that create life are found all over the universe. It is when these different components come together in a certain way, life is created. So far, we have only found this on earth. Does that make us the only life in the universe? I do not believe so. If the evolution can occur on this planet, then it can also occur elsewhere. We may be the first planet with life or we may be the last planet to have life or we could be in a group of rare planets that have life--meaning there are other worlds out there with life. Christianity wants everyone in this world to believe as they do concerning everything, because they believe a book of fairy tales, whose authorships cannot be proven. Because the stories cannot be proven, they say that that is proof of their version of truth... Bull! Homo Sapiens were not the first sentient beings on this planet. We now know that at least seven different groups of sentient beings once lived on this planet at the sametime and that for some reason--I believe due to genocide, based on historical record of humans killing everything not human as we define it--homo sapiens are the last race of sentient beings. Because they are the only sentients in existant, they claim God created them in his image--can't get more narcistic than that! Sentiency is self-awareness, elephants are self-aware, as are some other animals. Are they not then sentient as defined by homo sapiens? Like all organized religions, Christianity has imposed its beliefs on humanity through torture, murder, rape, robbery, intimidation and everything evil under the sun in order to further its own cause, including denying the existance of evolution. It takes billions of years for planets and suns to evolve. Therefore, it takes millions of years afterwards for life to evolve. Mutation and natural selection occurs as an evolutionary process. Mutations of an organism do not automatically mean the organism will survive. The mutation survives if it can reproduce and that its offspring are able to reproduce. If not, it dies. Natural selection is not necessarily survival of the fittest but what is selected for extinction or to progress into something else through a natural process over time--this is evolution. Selection of the fittest are the organisms that are able to reproduce successfully. Where did we actually come from and where are we going? Only God knows and he is keeping that answer to himself.

Natural Selection: is the idea that different genes would give an individual a better chance to reproduce in its environment and therefore pass on its genes. Survival of the fittest is about which individual has the great chance of passing on its genes not surviving.
Mutation: a error in the copying of DNA or RNA which causes a change in the individual. This mutation may not benefit the individual but in some cases it can.
These apply to evolution because the beneficial mutations would have allowed for the individual to reproduce more effectively in its environment and therefore pass on this new mutation. The harmful mutations would have killed off that individual or negated its ability to reproduce and its mutation would not be passed on.
The process would take forever because mutations are rare and not all of them would have been beneficial.
I am a creationist by the way. Now if you know so much about evolution tell me how the eye was made this is one thing I've never gotten how an eye could have come into existence through natural selection?

Creationists mostly understand only the 'comic book' version of evolution... a pseudo-scientific version that was invented by their religious puppet-masters to keep them bamboozled and complient.
"There is on earth among all dangers no more dangerous thing than a richly endowed and adroit reason... Reason must be deluded, blinded, and destroyed. Faith must trample underfoot all reason, sense, and understanding, and whatever it sees must be put out of sight and ... know nothing but the word of God."~ Martin Luther (Works Vol. 12). You can also find it quoted by Walter Kaufmann, 'The Faith of a Heretic' 1963, page 75
"For reason is the greatest enemy that faith has: it has never come to the aid of spiritual things, but -- more frequently than not -- struggles against the Divine Word, treating with contempt all that emanates from God." ~ Martin Luther, from "The Table Talk of Martin Luther" (303)
Religious 'shepherds' KNOW that their 'flock' (sheeple) are scientifically ignorant and incapable of critical thinking... because they've been PROGRAMMED to be ignorant. They KNOW that they are suspicious of 'scientific' sources , and find them to be intimidating and incomprehensible... because they've been CONDITIONED to distrust them. These puppet-masters KNOW that their flock (victims) will seek their 'knowledge' from 'trusted' sources... these very-same puppet-masters. When the sheeple hear things like 'scientists claim that humans and apes shared a common ancestor, in the distant past', they experience 'cognitive dissonance'... this information is in conflict with the 'truth' that they have believed for their whole lives. So... where do they go to resolve this cognitive dissonance?... Scientists?... NO! They go to their 'trusted' sources... the sources who KNOW that they have been taught WHAT to think... they have not been taught HOW to think. Sources who KNOW that they can lie, obfuscate, misrepresent with impunity... with absolutely NO RISK that their minions will seek out independent, peer-reviewed corroborating information.
People... there is an INDUSTRY (Christianity) whose BUSINESS it is to create whole generations of adults who are, at once, gullibile, irrational, willfully ignorant, self-deluded, intellectually dishonest, droolingly stupid and hypocritical... and willing to tithe 10% for the privledge of having their cognitive dissonance held in check through regular doses of holy BS.
They do their jobs very well indeed... as can be seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6xKDKq_PPbk&mode=related&search=

Sounds more like the Darwinian evolution theory. Which states evolution was random. but when doing the math, it comes out to some 9 trillion to one that creation was random. Second theory of evolution is Providential, which means guided by God. What makes more reasonable beliefs. when doing the math.

An average creationist knows a lot about evolution to know its a theory since evolution has been forced downn our throats by schooling even though no fact as been proving. Evolution doesn't say we came from apelike creatures. its says we have a common ancestor. Your redifining the word theories. theory doesn't tell us how something happened unless it would be a fact. theories explain how something COULD have happened.

Creationist get their misinformation at the Christian bookstore. If they would bother to go to library and read a real science book, they would ask better questions.
