a 20 something guitar player whose playing is raved by experienced musicians(in their 50's)and have been in the business for 40 years.

Websters dictionary describes a "prodigy" as a child genius. So no, I wouldn't classify your 20 something yr old as a prodigy. He/she is obviously very talented and should continue to try to grow in his craft.

Has it ever crossed your mind that perhaps these people that are giving your props just arent good? You are the same one that asked a similar question last time about what do you call a person who does various other things. This is not a good place to let other people rate you buddy lol. A musical prodigy shows signs from his childhood, as a child in basic terms. By the age of 6 he/she should be good enough as a 16-20 year old. By 20, they are too good ;) - Look at mozart.

Yup, you're a bit too late to be a prodigy. It's always good to be liked, but many famous musicians (not prodigies) reached some of their highest fames in their 20s. Keep going!
