I was just wondering if they are good or bad. I hear their clarinets are horrible and I kinda know they are bad because I own one. Just want to confirm this so yeah, please tell me if they are good or bad.

I have had several students come to band with big box instruments. They are what I would call last resort instruments. If you can spend 200 dollars on those, then spend that on a better quality used instrument off of an auction site.

Those instruments routinely played out of tune, broke, or wore out quickly...especially the trumpets... very light brass, sticky valves, etc.

He ends up listening to his own trumpet while others walk away or ignore him. If he blows it too hard and loud, he may also lose his hearing faculty along with few friends he is left with.

As the question is asked in R & S section the answer is, Person who blow his own trumpet [(தனக்குத்தானே) தம்பட்டம் அடித்துக் கொள்ளல்]: 'According to sastras self praise is instant spiritual death and thus self praise is equivalent to committing suicide!! Self praise is allowed on certain occasions like humble self introduction! Attributes as testimony: Tamil has 96 types of poetries. One among them is on self praising and it is allowed on introduction to other fellow poet.(சீட்டுக்கவி, கவி காளமேக புலவர்) 1) Self Praise is instant death! Mahabharata, Karna Parva, Chapter 50 (Prose order, Section 70) Arjuna was finding it tough with Karna during the war. Yudhushtira unable to withstand Karna's blistering attacks withdrew from that day's battle. That night Yudhishtira in utter frustration and despair mocked Arjuna and even questioned his so called valour and prowess of his legendry gandiva. Arjuna had a vow that anybody ridiculing his gandiva must be put to death. The infuriated Arjuna lunged onto Yudhishtira's jugular. Krishna was the witness. He has to protect the honor of Arjuna and the life of Yudhistira in real time. Krishna found an innovative solution. First he pleaded both the parties to be calm and look for a win-win solution. The sastras say that insult is worse than killing. So Arjuna could fullfil his vow by severely insulting Yudhishtira; Which Arjuna found a satisfying solution and did . But the commission of killing one's elder brother incurs the punishment of instant death. Arjuna prepared to kill himself. Krishna interfered and said: 'self praise is equivalent to suicide' [ atma slaghanam is equalent to atma hatya]. Arjuna found it logical and culturally approved chastisement and indulged in self praise in the presence of elders. Thus Krishna found an intuitive, out of the box solution to a complex problem 2) Arjuna's Self Praise: Arjuna said unto Yudhishthira, "Listen, there is no other bowman, like myself, except the deity that bears Pinaka; I am regarded by even that illustrious deity. In a moment I can destroy this universe of mobile and immobile creatures. It was I, O king, that vanquished all the points of the compass with all the kings ruling there, and brought all to their subjection. The Rajasuya brought to completion by gift of Dakshina, and the celestial palace owned by you, were both due to my prowess. In my hands are (marks of) sharp shafts and a stringed bow with arrow fixed thereon. On both my soles are the signs of cars with standards. No one can vanquish a person like me in battle. Nations from the North, the West, the East and the South, have been struck down, slain, exterminated and destroyed. A small remnant only of the samsaptakas is alive. I alone have slain half of the entire (hostile) army. Slaughtered by me, the Bharata host that resembled, O king, the very host of the celestial, is lying dead on the field. I slay those with (high) weapons that are conversant with high weapons. For this reason I do not reduce the three worlds to ashes..........." 3) Arjuna's insult to Yudhishtira: Arjuna said to Yudhishtira, "............... It is you who addicted to the evil practice of gambling. Having yourself committed a wicked act to which they only are addicted that are low. You had heard of the numerous faults and the great sinfulness of dice that Sahadeva spoke about. Yet dice, which are worshipped by the wicked, you could not abandon. It was for this that all of us have fallen into hell. We have never derived any happiness from thee since you were engaged in gambling with dice. O son of Pandu, yourself caused all this calamity, you are again, addressing these harsh words to me. Slain by us, hostile troops are lying on the field, with mangled bodies and uttering loud wails. It was you who did that cruel act in consequence of which the Kauravas have become offenders and are being destroyed. Nations from the North, the West, the East, and the South, are being struck, wounded and slain, after the performance of incomparable feats in battle by great warriors of both sides. It was you who had gambled. We lost our kingdom because of your actions. Our calamity arose from thee, O king! Striking us, again, with the cruel goad of your speeches, O king, do not provoke our wrath.'" 4) Islam: Beware, don’t be self-centered because it destroys your good deeds. Don’t you know that a companion of Hazrat Isa (a.s.) started walking on water by saying ‘Bismillah’; and in the midst of water he thought ‘Now I have also become like Hazrat Isa’ and he started drowning. He complained. Hazrat Isa (a.s.) saved him. When he asked the reason for drowning, Hazrat Isa (a.s.) said it was because of his self praise and arrogance. He was asked to beg for Allah’s forgiveness. He begged Allah for forgiveness and again he started walking on water by saying ‘Bismillah.’ (Furu-e-Kafi - 2, p. 306)
