I am sure some one has experienced this situation:
After an all day event the following day I realized that two of the batteries has melted or the battery acid came out. I put new batteries but now my flash won't even turn on! SO I was wondering can I take it and get it fixed or cleaned? Or am I going to have to buy another one? Or would i just have to buy a new cartridge where it holds that extra battery?

It was some rechargable batteries, which I was told to get so I wouldn't have to keep spending money on regular batteries. But I bought a Nikon SD8A Battery Pack now, but NOW i guess i need a new flash...

sorry to say but it doesn't sounds good. battery acid might seep into the component into your flash and corrode the components. I don't know if it can be fixed - it depends on how bad the damage is but I would imagine that it would be pretty expensive. It looks like that you might need a replacement there.

Use it as a paperweight and buy a new flash.

Curious as to what brand of batteries you were using - so I never buy them.
