2 dreams on the same night, similar theme. Dream #1 my husband had his index finger on the left hand cut off, dont know how, just discovered it. he thought was no big deal and would not let me treat him or go to hospital. in the meantime, i discovered that his whole hand had also been severed across the palm. i spent most of the dream trying to put the injured parts on ice and trying to convince him to go to the hospital. i woke up with this unresolved. #2 this happened after i went back to sleep my 10 year old daughter had severed the pinky and ring finger of her left hand as well as her hand accross the palm. I put the parts on ice and went thru an arduous process of getting her to the hospital. we did get there and i left her and went to wait on a military ship for news of her recovery. I remember waiting by the telephone for what seemed hours and i woke up never knowing the outcome at the hospital.

Solid relationships all around, 19 years married. No conflicts happening with any of the kids with each other or with my husband or I. I do have a son in the Navy, who says he is to be stationed in Norfolk VA in October on a ship. I am currently suffering a head cold if that makes any difference. I can't think of any stresses going on in my life atm. I haven't watched any scary movies lately. My daughter did mention a friend having a grand mal seizure at school yesterday but I can't seem to see any connection there. I am trying to think of anything that may make sense of this dream. I do know that it seems to have made an impact on me emotionally. I do pay attn to most of my dreams and this one seemed more ...hmmm... "notice me" type of dream.

Dream number one could show that you are missing something from your husband. Something has been cut off in your marriage, and at first it was small (a finger) and then it got bigger as he was avoiding it (the palm) and you have always wanted to fix it from the start.
Dream number 2 could just have been the same type of dream because your mind was still thinking about the one before, then it also shows your fear for something bad happening to your daughter and never knowing the answer. It shows you want to protect her too because you took her to the hospital.

i would say you are very anxious about something in the family perhaps coming from your husband and extended to your daughter. you cannot convince him to get help but you are trying very hard for your daughter. something is torn apart but the husband is not taking this seriously enough. somehow his index finger could be a metaphore for his penis but i don't think it really fits here. i hope it is not some concern about a hereditary disease. or else some psychological damage is done. hands and feet symbolized movement and power in dreams, so they seem to have some issues concerning personal empowerment. you are the only strong and sane figure. putting the parts on ice in both dreams maybe symbolizes your attitude to 'put on hold' your concerns about the situation to see what's really going on and how to fight this.
i have seen a similar dream years ago and it was really disturbing. i lived with a relative who was quite unbalanced mentally. so i hope this is not your case. in reverse you are the one that's imagining terrible things and on the verge of a breakdown. but definetely something is going wrong in the house and you feel tremendous pressure to put the pieces together. the child and the father had the same wounds, almost, so something identical is happening to them. are you going through a divorce process? the military ship denotes some kind of war situation.
