This is often caused by a narrowing of the esophagus for some reason: hiatal hernia, a growth, over-filled veins, etc. To be on the safe side, I would let the doc know right away. This is decidedly abnormal, and could be life-threatening.

Hon, my son suffers from a condition called, Achalasia. It is a narrowing of the throat and esophagus and food that isn't moistened or taken in VERY small bites will get stuck in the throat. Your boyfriend needs to see a doctor about this condition. It can be treated with a procedure to open up the esophagus and widen the opening. It's not painful, and he will benefit in the long run. If left untreated for a long time, the throat can, in some cases, become very constricted and cause numerous health problems.

Have him go to the doctor and explain his symptoms. And here's an article or two to read up on it. See if his symptoms match up.~

Your partner needs to see the doctor and have an endoscopy (a camera down the throat) to see what may be the cause of his problem. The sooner the better. good luck

He needs to go see the doc. He may need to have his esophogus dialated aka stretched. My dad has had that done in the past. Get him to go see his doc first thing next week and get this checked out. This is not something he should let go without getting it checked out.
