I am trying to find an inexpensive, easy on/off holster for my glock 19. I was looking at the fobus line (paddle) for their inexpensive price tag, but have not have much experience with them. I really like a smooth draw without the tightness and binding you can sometimes get with holsters. Any feedback on what kind of holster works best for some of you, would be great. Keep in mind, I am a thin person, and pancake type holsters have not worked out well for me because the holster curves too much and put friction on my draw. Also, I prefer an easy on off holster (like a paddle). I am also looking for an inside the waistband holster secure enough to hold a glock, and with the trigger protection glock users need. whew! sorry for the mouth full! but thanks for your advice!

When I'm not carrying my sidearms in a shoulder harness, I use the Blackhawk Serpa holsters, I have used Fobus in the past and I have no real problems with them, I simply prefer the Serpa. I also have a SafariLand thigh rig I use for cqb training, but mostly I just use either the Serpa, or my shoulder harness's.

Fobus Holster Glock 19

the fobus brand is just what you asked about, inexpensive, reliable and I really like them. I've used all kinds of holsters over the years, one of the best features for the glock pistol, is the fobus has no restraining strap. I mention this, because I saw an undercover officer chasing a bad guy, the officer had drawn his glock 19 from a hip holster that had a thumb break type retaining strap. As the officer chased the guy over a fence, the officer tried to holster his glock while running, somehow, the strap got inside the trigger guard, released the "safe action" glock trigger, fired the weapon and shot the officer in the butt. If you find your fobus holster is a little sticky or drags when you draw, simply buy a spray can of silicone spray ( I use the stuff I buy at the dive shop for my dive equipment) and spray it into the holster lightly. It reall slicks it up nicely.
Hope this helps

I dislike Fobus holsters...maybe my experience is in the minority, but I bought one (it was a paddle too) for my Glock 19 and hated it. It was not smooth and just didn't seem to work right (for me). For inexpensive holsters, I would take a look at FIST, Galco, or Comp-Tac (if you like kydex). You are probably still going to pay around $50 to $60, but I've never found anything in the $20 to $40 dollar range that's worth a d---. I currently own a FIST IWB for my 19 and I am saving up for a Kramer or Milt Sparks. Good luck with your search and I hope you find what you are looking for.

Not a fan of shoulder rigs, for driving I'd either go with a crossdraw or a 5.11 tactical holster shirt setup. The shoulder rig I purchased a few years back is at the bottom of the dead holster box. Thought about ressurecting it for a halloween costume last year, but tossed it back. Uncomfortable, difficult to get used to and unnerving fro anyone standing behind you, as you are covering them with the muzzle. A few other styles have the muzzle facing up toward your armpit, bad plan too. I have been wearing the 5.11 Tactical holster shirt on and off for several months, and it is well designed, comfortable and durable. Combined with the 'covert shirt', it is perfect for seated concealed carry. I have to say that I was doubtful of the holster shirt, especially for $50. The guy at the store convinced me to buy it and im glad I did. Im a bit chunky, (mini-keg instead of six pack) but this shirt is great. No printing at all with my sig and j frame revolvers, and i sorta forget its there sometimes. Its been washed 20 plus times and still snug and no wear. The covert shirt is a button up front, but the first 3 or 4 buttons are actually hidden snaps for super quick access to the gun. The 19 should fit OK, i never tried my 17 but its supposed to fit a compact 1911 style.

Fobus is a piece of CRAP period. Get a Comp tac or a blade tech holster. Expect to pay under a hundred for a descent holster. A holster is a piece of life saving equipment don't scripm on something like that.

I love Fobus holsters for easy to use quick in quick out for any of my handguns. Now I also must share BlackHawk CQC holsters with Serpa Lock. These are awesome. Kinda hard to explain here but the level two security does not use tension as its main secuity of the firearm. Go to website below. They are about 50 bucks or so but worth every penny.
