I don't think either of your choices fit me. I don't find the violation of God's law that simple. Yes, when I break the law it is ultimately because I choose to disobey.
But for me, it isn't a conscious choice that I hate God's law or want to disobey it. It is more that at that moment, my desire for something is stronger than my desire to live for God. Whenever this happens, I have to examine my life. God has given me the Holy Spirit to strengthen me in this battle. But the truth is I understand well Paul's words that "I find myself doing that which I shouldn't..."
This isn't God's fault. It simply means that I am still too much in love with the things of this world. But through God's love and strength that is changing every day.

Free will really isn't so absolute is it?
People talk about free-will, will-power, and willfully denying or accepting but none of it is that simple. We cannot go against our natural state indefinitely, be it emotional, intellectual, genetic, etc. We burn out and it affects every aspect of our lives.
There is much about myself that is beyond my control and in those cases I have to accept myself as is. Each day I can make choices based on that, hopefully they are choices to be the best person I can be within those boundaries.

because at times we can entertain thoughts and become selfish and loose our self control. Which we are decieved by ourselves mostly and then theres the one that wants us to be decieved.
But Jesus main Commandments are to love God with all your heart, mind, body and soul. And Love your neighbors as youself. Any thing Else would fall under those two principles.
What I do to you is sometimes better of what I don't do to you.and visa-versa.
Paul said I always strive to do the good but I still do bad things. (not in those exact words) I could find it if needed.
We are still living Glory-to-glory, we are not perfect. but that is what the love and mercies of God is for.
He knows the thoughts and intents of our hearts.

Paul in Romans says it much better than I can.
"I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing. Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it." It is not a question of us not wanting to live to please God, however sometimes we get caught up in the moment and stop looking at Christ, and see something that we desire and go for it, even if it could be sin- even Paul struggled with sin, while a believer. We don't want to, however until we reach full maturity in Christ, when we see Him face to face, we still struggle with flesh and blood- even though we should not sin,

Because sometimes, its more fun not to do the right thing. Sometimes, its easier. Even Christians can be self-serving and actively make wrong choices.
When I mess up, it doesn't mean that I don't ultimately want to obey God. It just means I get a little sidetracked now and then.

I think that sometimes you can't always control your actions like, you cant help getting in fights with your parents...you covet...everyone does....but the commandments arent exactly rules that you MUST obey...they are more like guidelines that you must follow as closely. If you ask God to forgive the things that you have done then he will.
besides...the last couple of commandments are common sense...dont commit adulty...dont diobey your parents (unless of course they are abusing you...but u should still have some sort of love for them)...etc etc.

No, we do not want to but we do because we are sinners. God's free will is always within His limits. We have a lot of choices here on earth, but the offer of Jesus is the same for everyone. That is why He gave us a new covenant. We need to love Lord with all of our heart and each other too. We all sin because we are sinners. Jesus died for us, but we need to tell Him if we accept His offer.
We fall short from the glory of God but God is willing to forgive if we admit our shortcomings.

well if we could adhere perfectly to the commandments we wouldn't need a Savior in the first place. we do our best. as long as we continually keep moving forward and bettering ourselves that is what matters. Christ makes up for what we can't do on our own.

If Christians break God's commandments then...yes, they are willing and wanting to break it. i don't know why a Christian would want to do that in the first place anyways!!!

Free will is not absolute. However, I think we can move AWAY from God all we want. It is our nature. It is grace that moves us toward God in spite of ourselves.
