Hi I am a pediatric dental hygienist. At our office we usually recommend bringing the children in somewhere between the age of 2-3. Before that age most won't sit still in the chair. Of course if there is a problem or question about the teeth you can bring them in sooner. As for insurance each office is different you will just have to call around and check to see who may take that.

the american academy of pedatric dentistry will tell you and also your your pediatrition says no later then his or her first birthday should be seen or when you start to see teeth you can have them looked at take them to a pediatric dentist they will see a child at any age we had a baby at 2 weeks who had 4 teeth born with 2top and 2 lower they specialize in children only there trained to handel your child its okay they dont sit still you can do a different things to accomodate any child I have seen children at the the age of 2and3 have a full mouth of caviteis so start before its gets to far get them familar to going everything is their size we use terminology used that they understand not like at a general office it much different then when we were kids. And as for your ins anything preventive is usually covered 100% exam xrays cleaning fluoride under this catagory this I think is through the military ?But if not it is normally the same
