He wanted to be as powerful as God. Since he could not be that powerful, he turned away from God did unjust things to try and be like God, showing his own way of power.

Ezekiel 28:13 Tells how in Eden he originally started out a beautiful covering cherub. verse 15 says he was faultless in his ways. Probably since it says Jesus was the first of God's creations, Satan was next. That is why he portrays the trinity doctrine. He wants the three of them to be equal God's.
But he wanted these people to worship him. Earth was a threater spectacule they watched and Satan wanted this people to worship him as God.
Then later in Genesis 6 and Jude 6 it says he clothed himself in a human body and went taking wives for hisself. So he wanted sex or feelings. They are spirit being who do not have flesh and blood. They do not eat or sleep or feel.
They do not die so do not feel scared or pain.
Perhaps they wanted all these things to be a human being.
Maybe that is why things scarey or painful or fleshly is called Satanic.
when you give someone free will you take the chance they will choose the wrong way. That is what Satan did, he chose the wrong way.
If you go on reading about Satan in Ezekiel 28:17 your heart became haughty. As REvelation 12:7 says on to the earth i will throw you. So he was cast out of heaven.
He wants you to believe Adam and EVE didn't really die and God was lying to them. But God said they would return to the ground.
Ezekiel 28:18 in the last of that scripture he says he will make Satan ashes upon the earth. He will become non existance. Just like those who follow him.

I am not sure how you are asking this question. I think you mean, "How is Satan bad if he is an angel?"

The best answer that I can give you, is that angels, just like humans, have free-will. Angels choose to worship God. Lucifer (Satan) was the highest angel. He started to feel pride and jealousy toward God. He felt that could be better than God. He turned from God and declared himself most supreme. Because of this, God threw him and his followers out of Heaven and sent them to a place called Hell where he would be seperated from the splendor of Heaven. I think that is my best answer for you. I hope I cleared up any confusion for you.

It's satan not satin (that's fabric) but he was filled with pride...ego. He wanted to be god, and rule in His place. That is and was not an option. Being as there is no repentance for angels...sorry dude you're south for eternity!

been a while now but I seem to remember a story about "the war in heaven"... long before humankind, or even life on earth, the celestial beings were created... in other words angels.

The big G-man created mankind and then asked his 2 closest angels... Jesus and Lucifer what the best way to let mankind live was...

Jesus thought it was best to let us all make our own minds up... learn from our lives... Become stronger and more capable by questioning and concluding for ourselves (Leave us to our own devices and allow us to develop while being monitored, but not interfered with).

Lucifer disagreed... he claimed that seeing as God created mankind, then God should make them worship him... he should make them bow down... he should give them no doubt that he was thier creator and they should all do exactly what they were told.

God agreed with Jesus and not with Lucifer... and that SERIOUSLY hacked off Lucifer who then gathered an army of angels and the war in heaven started.

Eventually, God's side won and as punishment, Lucifer was "cast down" as a "fallen angel" along with his followers. He became better known as Satan, and his followers became demons.

Now here's the interesting thought... Lucifer only wanted mankind to worship god... he wanted them to do so in certain ways... at certain times... Sound familiar? Sound like EVERY organised religion on the planet?! ("must be in church every sunday, and sing this song, then say this prayer"?!)

That's why I'm agnostic... I believe in the war in heaven... and I believe that Jesus and the G-man still want us to find our own way... not just to blindly follow.

Religion is flawed... It's what Lucifer wanted all those aeons ago... and when you see the harm it's doing around the world, isn't that proof enough that Lucifer has himself disguised organised religion as "the right way" just to prove a point?

Food for thought!

Lucifer was a free moral agent. He deceived himself by thinking he was more than he was. He had a wicked thought, and he entertained it. A little bit of leaven soon makes the whole loaf leavened. That wicked thought grew until it produced the action of outright rebellion against God. One third of the angels who had trusted him and revered him were deceived into following him in his rebellion. When this happened, God created the Lake of Fire, specifically for the Devil and his angels. In God's wisdom, He has not yet executed the sentence decreed against Satan. Satan is doomed but still believes he can outsmart God. What a shock it was to him when he had Jesus killed to find out that the death of Jesus defeated him, when Jesus rose from the dead. Now Satan's desire is to seduce believers in Jesus to forsake the Lord. He does everything to kill our faith in the Lord. Daily I need to seek the Lord in prayer and read His Word. He is my helper and the one who holds me up. I am dependent on Him. Praise His wonderful name. Life is hard, but God is good. Submit to the Lord and the devil will flee. When we fall, confess, get back up and go with God. Sanctification is a life long pursuit and we do it all by grace. Everything is by grace, that is, total dependence on God for the grace He supplies. I am weak but He is strong.

Spiritualists see Satan as a symbolic term for man thinking like mortal man instead of spiritual man. If you go through the Bible and insert mortal man where ever you see the word Satan, it makes a lot more sense. Spiritualists interpret angels to be thoughts or ideas from God to us. Again, insert the words 'thoughts from god' when you see the word angel and it will make sense.

No; Satin was bad because God accidentally spilled his drink on him.

Satin is dry-clean only, and that stain never came out.

He was angry,

and now he lets us all FEEL HIS ANGER!

LOL. Funny typo.

However, satan did not turn bad because he was an angel. Satan turned bad because he made a bad choice with his free will.

Satan was a beautiful angel and he thought he was better than God, so God casted him down to earth and he became evil.

(I know it almost sounds like a Greek type God, but that's the way I learned it.)
