there's this guy in school, he talks to me alot online, but when it comes to face-to-face talk, especially in front of his friends, he just bails. he carries my books after school, he calls me sweet names like "babe or sweetheart" in a sort of playful way. he talks to me everyday even if he's overseas. he flirts occasionally. and everything. but in the end, his line will always be
"i'll be there for you. you're my good friend."

Sounds like hes trying to hide his affection for you at school which means either he is afraid of being teased for your relationship or he wants to keep his options open for any other "Bigger better deals " that he might fall into. Either way you need to tell him that either your togehter or your not. You deserve a straight answer.
