I believe it's parental control to make sure grade schoolers take shower or bath every day or at least every other day. If there's a kid under 10 not taking shower entire week, whose responsibility and fault not doing so would it be, kid or parent?

Of course it's the parent's responsibility to teach their child proper hygiene. Have you tried addressing this issue with the parents? If this is an issue, there may be even more serious issues at home than you knew about in the first place.

it would definitely be the parent or the legal guardian. the adult should of taught the child better hygiene skills. if the child will not take a shower or bath everyday or at least every other day then punishments should be put in place. but first you should make sure everything is going alright with the child. if the child is upset about something, then that might be why he/she is refusing to bathe.

I think it's the parents at 10, it's still pretty young and even into the teen esp boys need to be reminded I think to take showers regularly. I mean at least every second day. Could be the clothes too, if the parents dont wash the clothes then they could remain stuffy and stinky, even if the child is clean. Difficult situation really..

It's obviously the parent's fault. Kids under 10 is still too young to fully understand the concept of hygiene, which parents must teach them, otherwise they may grow up without proper knowledge or common sense in terms of cleanliness. Even if whatever fuss kids make for taking shower, it's still their responsibility to force them doing so, as parents are meant to be fully taking care of their kids!!
It breaks my heart to see innocent kids without being well taken care of by their parents. Guess some parents are too irresponsible to pay attention to their kids.......

it would be both . it would be on the kid to want to shower and it would be on the parent to make the kid take the shower in the first place . I hate when there is a lack of parental control . good luck

Thats just like asking if it is the parent or childs responsibilty to provide food. Hopefully by bathing the child regularly at a younger age the child knows that cleanliness is important. Definately the parents responsibility.

Parent, as the child is still a child and that is why we have parents to teach us the right things for them, whether they know it or not.

This child would be made fun of for stinking and it is not healthy not to bathe. There are possibilities of some things medically that could happen like a urinary tract infection and bacteria growing on the skin.

I personally think the parent is at fault there. Kids are so young and don't really understand how to be hygienic, so it's up to the parents to at least remind them to bathe.
