This may be a stupid question, but I have to ask...
is there ANYTHING I can do to feel less of the pain of getting a tattoo. One of my friends said she took a Tylenol PM and couldn't feel a thing.
But I know, "if you cannot deal with the pain, you shouldn't be getting a tattoo"
lol

One of the worst things you can do it tighten up the area. Try not to do any heavy exercise or anything with that area. That'll just make you more tense and when that needle starts in, it's not going to feel ANY better.

Also, Tylenol is a horrible idea, as is drinking. Both of those will thin your blood and can only lead to serious complications.

To be honest, your best bet is to find someone experienced. They'll know how to make sure you're not squirming, because the more pain you're in, the more you squirm, the harder their job is. Do research!

The pain is going to be there, but don't think of it as "if you cannot deal with the pain, you shouldn't be getting a tattoo"... view it more like "An hour or two of pain, for a lifetime of pleasure."

i can't imagine tylenol pm completely taking away the pain of a tattoo. i have had a lot of tattoo time and i once took pain medication... presciption and it still hurt.
i prefer getting tattooed with nothing to take away the pain. having done it both ways i will from now on go painful, not pain free.

asperin i've heard works. such as advil, ibprofin, tylenol. take them about an hour before u go. u may still feel some pain depending on where u get the tattoo. if the shop is responsible enough they won't let u get tattooed when u are drunk.

When i had my second tattoo done on the bottom of my back i asked to have anestetic gel put on first, it doesn't take all of the pain away but it does take the edge off.

It's more uncomfortable than anything. I seriously wouldn't even worry about taking anything. You can always take something afterwards if youre feeling any pain in the area.

well, it wouldnt hurt to take some tylenol or aspirin, but its still gonna hurt though. my brother got a tattoo on his back/shoulder area and he said it actually felt really good. like getting a really deep massage. he's crazy though. lol

and btw, your dog is so pretty!! i love the look of huskies / malamutes! and you look good in the pic of you leaning on the car too. lol.

it doesnt really hurt that bad. i cant stand pain, and it only felt like someone was scratching a spot that was sunburned. after they've been going for a few minutes, its so numb from the vibrating, you dont feel much of anything anyways.

you can always get piss *** drunk, but that'll thin out your blood and some tattoo artists won't work on you if they know you're drunk
