Scripture tells us that Satan, the serpent, was subtle and clever. He beguiled or lured Eve into sin by tempting her with something he knew would be hard for her to resist - i.e. a taste of the fruit of the tree God had forbidden.
God, in His love and generosity, gave them the entire Garden of Eden to be happy in, and they could partake of anything they wished EXCEPT for one tree.
Satan knew the one restriction was driving them crazy. In their pride, they wondered why God would withold this one thing, instead of being grateful at that millions of other things He gave them.
Satan then revealed that God was keeping the fruit from them because it would make them "like gods" and so he trapped them by appealing to their human pride.

He blinded her eyes to the truth.....he made a tree appear to be more than it had been before. That very tree had been in the garden as long as Eve had, she knew the consequences of eating of it's fruit. She had plenty of food sources and she gladly partook of them before her run-in with the deceptive father of the lie....satan!
The scriptural account says she was "thouroughly deceived."
