well, maybe not exactly a six-pack. I was overweight, I lost 40kg and now I wanna shape a six-pack. I started a year ago. I dropped all the pounds in June and since June I try to get in shape. I go to the gym every day, doing 60 crunches in a machine.

What should I do to get in shape? (six-pack, chest etc)

whooooooa hey dont do crunches everyday. just like with any muscle, you need to give your abs time to rest or they just wont grow or get toned. do crunches every other day like monday crunches, tuesday rest, wednesday crunches, thursday rest, you see where im goin? and make sure you eat a good amount of protein. 50g a day is good enough and pretty easy to get. keep in mind that 2 glasses of milk is 32 grams of protein right there so u only have 18 left to eat in the whole day which is extremely easy.

and most importantly make sure you get 8 hours of sleep a night! ur muscle doesnt grow much at all while or after you lift. it grows in your sleep. If u dont sleep and still want abs thats like tryin to mail a letter without a stamp

Just go down to your local corner store.

Actually having a sculpted 'six pack' is an unrealistic and unreliable fitness goal. No more than being a skinny runway model is the best example of female health.

Droping excess weight and doing abdominal and other core strengthening is a good thing but overall total body fitness is the most important thing, especially heart and lung function.

Most people have too much fat but you can go too far the other way too. Some fat is actually good for you and bodybuilders present an unhealthy picture and unrealistic target.

good for you man! i've been losing weight and trying to shape up too. its a long hard road, but i think the right answer to your question is "as long as it takes".

to really have six pack abs you need to have basically no fat on your body. make sure that you're doing some type of cardio (running, biking, playing basketball, etc), that will burn tons of calories and get your heart rate up. you can drop a lot of that last bit of "extra" weight that way so that your muscle definition is better.

i've lost a ton of weight, and i'm starting to show a lot more muscle tone in my upper body, but its that last little bit just above my waist that's fighting me. as long as we both keep it up though, we'll get there! good luck!
