There are some excellent supplemental plans offered by Humana, Aetna, and others that require no monthly premium, and prescriptions are covered as well. Your mother will need to use the physicians in the network, but usually this is not a concern. Chances are that her current doctors are in the network already. These companies have other plans to choose from requiring an additional premium, usually no more than $50 a month.
Your mother currently has the ability to go for care where she chooses, when she chooses, anywhere in the country. This is the main benefit to her plan with Blue Cross. If she isn't traveling much, and uses the same physicians on a regular basis, switching insurance plans that have the same doctors in network shouldn't be too concerning for her.
Call her physicians offices and ask which plans they accept and recommend. Chances are that she will be very happy with the new company.

Medicare pays for most stuff , sooo , I did Not opt for supplemental .
I figure , that the extra charges can be taken from my 'estate' if & when I pass .
But if you feel you must have it , google medicare insurance and Illionois .

This is a hard one. Its not what she can do but what you can do. You can pay it for her if you really love her. If someone has to pay, it should be a family member that cares which is you.

I dunno... I guess she could count on her Children a little more, and my paycheck a little less.
Good luck with it.
Warm regards,
