According to Islam Angels are intangible, sentient entities, who do not posses free will. They were created for the sole purpose of serving God. Being made of light, they can assume almost any form, completely real to the human eye, and traverse a distance just as fast as light or faster.

actually, if God is the Creator, he created Angels. If God is the all Seeing and All Knowing and has his Masterplan for all of us, then no, Angels do not have free will but will do as God command. All actions should have been perceived or Designed by God, the Creator, and thus, we or Angels may appear to have free will but we are just following a path which has been written for us in order to fulfull His Masterplan.
As for Lucifer, if there is Heaven, there must be Hell. The balance should be there so, I believe that Lucifer and the rebellion is part of God's plan too.

Yes, an angel does have free will. If they didn't there wouldn't have been a rebellion.

angels have free will (look at Lucifer) but their will is perfectly conformed to God's will -- they don't have to power of creation though

according to Jewish belief, no, angels do NOT have free will.
and there WAS no rebellion. thats a new testament invention.
think of it like this... for Angels, following God's will, is like us following the law of gravity.
