Turkish is spoken in Turkey. Some people also speak Arabic or Kurdish. But the main language is Turkish. Here are some phrases for you:

Merhaba - Hello
Nasilsin - How are you
Nasilsiniz - How are you (more polite or when asked to more than one person)
iyi gunler - Have a good day
Hoscakal - Goodbye

There are also some Arabic and Abkhaz speakers.

They speak Turkish in Turkey. Of course, if they're trying to sell you something, they'll speak German, and English. The only time I've been to a tourist area in Turkey (Antalya) I got pretty peed off with insistent people trying to get you to buy something. My companion, from South America, told me to cool off, they were only doing their job. In the end she had had enough and said to a guy on the street, in Spanish, 'I only speak Spanish.' Guess what? He spoke Spanish to her.
Not sure where you're coming from. If you are teaching in England, then you're job is to teach the child English.
My step grandchild is not quite 3 and she can already speak fluent Turkish and translate Turkish to German (We live in Switzerland).
My own children were brought up in Switzerland and none of their teachers ever spoke English to them. (I kept them out of English classes because I knew that would lead to conflict).
