Often these dreams are just incomplete dreams. Representing some amount of stress you are undergoing presently. Is something you are attempting to work out sub-consciously. That stress factor is not allowing the completion of the dream.. If this is recurring, would be advisable to have that block eliminated. Most times, this allows the dream to complete and has a much happier ending.

I sure wish mental illness did not have such a negative stigma. If you are human, you will have a mental illness at some point during your life. Some mental illnesses are brief, some are chronic. Just like physical illness.
You go to the doctor when you are injured or sick. So ask for help with your feelings of fear and sadness. A counselor, teacher, or your parents.
Why suffer when you can be well?

Having bad dreams is not a sign of having a mental illness. Dreams are a reflection of your life. So maybe you're under a lot of stress or maybe someone in your family is sick and you're afraid of them passing away? Whatever it is, you dont have a mental illness. It's just a phase your going through and it'll eventually pass.

It's possible you are suffering from any number of conditions - depression and PTSD come immediately to mind.
However, you cannot be properly diagnosed by anyone except a doctor, preferably a psychiatrist.
And, no reputable doctor will diagnose a psychological condition on the internet. You need to see a doctor in person.

It sounds like a case of stress and anziety to me...Go and talk to a counselor, friend, clergyman or someone you can trust. If the nightmares are keeping you from sleeping, see your family doctor and he can give you a temporary scrip for some sleeping pills....Good luck!

yes, sounds like anxiety or panic disorder which are both linked to depression which is a mental disorder. I had to get on antidepressants to make my fears go away.

if you are OBSESSING over them dying, then its possible you have obsession compulsive disorder. but if your mother or sister have had something happen to them where they were seriously injured then possibly you might have post traumatic stress syndrome. if i were you, i would go to a psychiatrist for treatment and therapy.
