I believe that the Bible came from God. Man wrote it, but the revelation came directly from God, so the message has remained clear. It is His word. Agree?

Yes, the Bible is infallible and it is the word of God. For the others who said before that it contradicts itself, I ask for the proof. I am not under any circumstances seeking to be confrontational, I am only asking for the proof that you speak of. I am a Christian and I have read the Bible, studied the Bible, and tried my best to live how the Bible instructs me to live. There is a reason why the Bible is the greatest selling book of all time and why after many attempts to destroy it, it is still in existance.

No, no, a thousand times no. The Bible is not infallible. Methuselah did not live 900 years unless a year used to be a couple of weeks old at the time---and I doubt it. Joshuah did not stop the sun in the sky because everything on earth would have gone sailing out to space and there is no way every animal on this planet got into a boat with Noah. How would he feed them, keep them from eating each other? The waste products alone would make your nose fall off. No, I have great respect for the Bible, but only take literally the words of Jesus in the New testament (That's the longest answer I ever gave in my life)

Strongly disagree. There is no evidence for its having come from God, either directly or indirectly, let alone being infallible. This is taken on faith. In fact, since the Bible contains a wealth of internal contradictions as well as statements which contradict modern scientific truth, it is not logically possible for it to be infallible. At most, it may have value as myth and emotional support.

Faith is belief in the absence of evidence, or even in the face of evidence to the contrary. I do not believe such a standard of belief is acceptable in the 21st century.

paradoxically, lots of the denominations of Christians do agree on what the over arching subject concerns are. that's the quite a few considerable factors that are disagreed upon, and a majority of those extremely do not result the main important subject concerns. And, needless to say, everybody is greater infallible that we desire to confess.

An Almighty God is certainly more than capable of preserving His words for a mere few thousand years.

In the Bible, the 6 legged grasshopper is described as having 4 legs, and the value of Pi is defined as 3.

So infalliable? Only if non literal.

John,
I am a Christian and that is something that I would agree with but a number of people on this site will never agree to such a thing. This is a divisive matter of faith and has no place here. Please think about what you are doing. We should be asking and answering questions of those who have them not seeking to divide people more than they already are. If you are a Christian please read Matthew 28:18-20 and think about what you are doing. Have a wonderful day.
Thank YOU,
Eds
