Size 0.....did you know it's just a myth perpetuated by the British media?

First and foremost, a size 0 is NOT a British size. When some people hear the words 'size 0', they mistakenly think of it as a British size and then it's no wonder people think it's just skin and bones. But it's not a UK size, it's a US size and there is more..........

The media and conversion websites start to inform us that yes it is a US size (they are sorry for the confusion) and that it is the equivilent of a UK size 2....funny that, because a size 2 doesn't exist in the UK either.

But then the confusion appears to be resolved when they finally decide it is actually a UK size 4........finally it all adds up, but then I started do some of my own research.............

I checked the size charts of many American retailers and found a size 0 was closest in measurements to a UK size 6 and sometimes a size 8.........hang on a minute, have you ever heard a newspaper or tv programme make a big deal about a UK size 6 or 8 because I never have......but a size 0 makes front page news! Why? Because it sounds so extreme and a size 6 or 8 doesn't grab headlines.

So you see folks, it's all one big myth....an illusion perpetuated by the British media.

And if you are wondering where a UK size 4 fits into all this, this is the infamous US size 00 and explains why it is such a hard size to find in the UK.

Whether one is a proportionately petite female who does not wish to shop for clothing in the childrens section it is hoped the rest of the world could care less what number size she is considered to be. Writing from experience, whatever size is to be assigned to me really doesn't affect me as long as it fits!!!

Phew! Now I feel relieved! I used to be a size 8 way back when I was a young girl. Now I'm a 12/14 and constantly feel like a whale. However, these stick people like Victoria Beckham and the Olsen twins really don't look healthy or attractive and they will probably develop osteoporosis when they're old.
