There are apparently 101 obscure contradictions in the Bible. I've read the Bible and I expect to reply and help me understand. If there are that many contradictions in the Bible, then it is definitley not God's word. Or is it? It takes only one contradiction to affirm it's not God's word, cause in fact God is not stupid and wouldn't lie to his followers, or would he?

What exactly is your question? You seem to want to post a question and then answer it yourself.

There are, depending on how you count them and which version of the Bible you are using, just shy of 700 inconsistencies.

The best historical guide and Biblical reference that I have found is Isaac Asimov's. It's in two volumes and it's very long. But it is well researched and reads easily. It sits next to my unabridged Shakespeare, which, arguably, is a more valuable tool for help with life's lessons.

Hey Matt D, instead of being so cycnical. Why don't you read the Bible cause I have buddy. Stop pestering other people about their questions. This is a free zone, and free talk area. Observe the rights for everyone. Anyways I agree, I can't answer them myself. Look the first bible ever foudn was written in Greek and then translated to English.

But

However

Even before the Greek Bible

There was the Hebrew Bible

The bible was thus translated 3 to 4 times....it's absurd that the word would stay the same.

I just looked up some more sites...there are more contradictions...

Bible difficulties, or apparent Bible contradictions, exist. The opponents of Christianity often use them in their attempts to discredit Christianity. Sometimes these attacks undermine the faith of Christians who either don't understand the issues or don't have the resources to deal with them.

Opponents of Christianity will cite what they consider a Bible contradiction or difficulty by comparing one verse to another (or more) that seems to disagree with the first. In doing this, several verses are often referenced as being contradictory or problematic. Therefore, to make this section of CARM easy to use, it is arranged by verse for easy lookup. Since many of the same "difficulties" deal with one verse in opposition to another or even several others, I have listed all the verses addressed in the same answer. This makes the initial list look larger than it really is. For example, how many animals did Noah bring into the ark? Genesis 6:19-20 says two while Gen. 7:2-3 mentions seven. Therefore, both verses are listed and both links point to the same answer.

If we read the Bible at face value, without a preconceived bias for finding errors, we will find it to be a coherent, consistent, and relatively easy-to-understand book. Yes, there are difficult passages. Yes, there are verses that appear to contradict each other. We must remember that the Bible was written by approximately 40 different authors over a period of around 1500 years. Each writer wrote with a different style, from a different perspective, to a different audience, for a different purpose. We should expect some minor differences. However, a difference is not a contradiction. It is only an error if there is absolutely no conceivable way the verses or passages can be reconciled. Even if an answer is not available right now, that does not mean an answer does not exist. Many have found a supposed error in the Bible in relation to history or geography only to find out that the Bible is correct once further archaeological evidence is discovered.

Honestly, in this list, only the first one is relevant. When it comes to numbers and how numbers were recorded in Hebrew, these mistakes are too common and too easy to make. When writing in the ancient Hebrew language, they didn't use numbers like we do (1, 2, 3, etc.) They used the same letters as making words. They also had no punctuation marks (comma, period, semi-colon, etc.), and they didn't use spaces between words.... with these 3 things, it easy to see how mistakes could be made when recording numbers, and when trying to read them, copy them, and interpret them. So, no, the numbers are not good signs of contradictions. The most you can say is inconsitensies.

How Judas died; the 2 creation stories; the 2 birth narratives for Jesus; who were the 12 disciples... these are all much better examples of contradictions.

Matthew says Judas hanged himself after returning the money he got for the betrayal. The Acts say that Judas fell head first into the field he bought with the money he got for betraying Jesus and his bowels gushed out.

In Gen 1, man is the last to be created. In Gen 2, man is the first of the animals to be created and he is created before the vegetation, also.

The only things that Matthew and Luke agree on in the their birth naratives is: 1) Mary and Joseph were parents, 2) Mary was virgin, 3) Jesus born in Bethelem. Everything else is different.

Matthew and Luke one different name: Judas the son of James versus Thaddeus. The Acts says that Judas Iscariot was replaced with Matthias. Paul says that he is the 12th apostle.

And the clincher, Judas Iscariot is one of the 12, and whether you believe he committed suicide or fell into a field and died, he was no longer around when Jesus arose... Yet, Paul say that when Christ arose he showed him self first to Cephas (Peter), then to the 12, then to 500 witnesses.

How did he show himself to the 12 if Judas was dead? Were there really 13? Did Judas not really die?

in the beginning, the Bible is barely as superb because of the fact the translation - easily there have been some errors in translation. 2d, you will desire to be careful to no longer take issues out of context. 0.33, re: your final occasion, the apostles gave their own account of specific activities - and merely like at present in case you ask 12 distinctive people who observed the comparable journey to grant their own account of the form, you will possibly get twelve comparable yet no longer precisely the comparable debts. The contradictions actual do no longer negate the magnitude and spirit of the Bible.

There are no contradictions on the verses of the bible if you only know how to understand those verses. A bad man can never understand the bible. It will not be allowed by God.

The Old testament is a book of History written by Moises. You ought to know this matter.
