I'm going to make my veil because I believe the prices on them are just outrages (sp?). I did find one that would go perfect with my dress and will duplicate it, it has teardrop crystals hanging from it (scalloped edge - crystals are hanging from the "up" point). My question is...what do you all think about putting colored crytals instead of clear? My girls will be wearing blue (navy & baby) and I found blue teardrop crystals. Also the veil won't be overpowered by the crystals maybe just a dozen or so NOT totally lined with the crystals.

I think it would look good. It would also cover your something blue for that day.

Just my opinion, but I would skip the crystals. Sometimes even the clear crystals will photograph as a dark spot, giving the veil a polka-dot effect. I had originally wanted my veil to be edged in tiny crystals,,,until the shop owner showed me several pictures in which the veil photographed as if it were edged in a not-so-pretty black. And yes, you are totally correct that the price of veils is ridiculous!

You might want to intersperse some of the crystals with your flowers too and use the blue ribbon. Have a wonderful day.

i think that is a beautiful idea and will look absolutely stunning!!!!! i love the idea of having some color in the veils, but have not seen any with color crystals. That is such an origional (sp?) idea.

I think it would be absolutely gorgeous with blue & clear crystals! You could use the crystals to accent your garter as well! Good luck

it's a unique way to incorporate your wedding colors into your gown and accessories. a fabulous idea, go for it!
you could also try dyeing your shoes baby or navy blue to incorporate more color. i'm thinking about doing that for my wedding.

As long as it is not over-done, I think it would look really lovely. A bit of colour and detail to make it interesting is nice. Everything will go nicely.
