I am not sure I understand your question. When a man took home his bride and they entered the house, she officially became his wife. There are marriage ceremonies and there are marriage ceremonies and naturally over the millennia they have varied.

Did people marry then as they do now? No. Did they marry at all? Yes. Did they live together without benefit of marriage. Not those who worshiped the true God.

Not in the same "bed" When a man and woman would become "engaged" the man would go and build the home, when he was finished he would bring HIS father to inspect if he agreed that all was ready, the groom would go and seek his bride then there would be the wedding, the wedding feast, then and only then would they go home and consummate the marriage.

during the courtship period (1 year typically) they were as husband and wife. They would do everything as such except sexually.
It was common for women not married to a man to live under his roof.(however often times separate accommodations where made) No sex was the main rule.
