Believe me they would continue the practice; after all they will simply justify it by saying; "its in the bible" or "its gods will"
Edit:
Oh goodie I got some thumbs downs by believers. I know my statement is true hence the reason for the thumbs down

I am just going to lay this out for you because I am tired of this anti-Christian movement in this country. Christians do not wish harm on any other religion. The horrible practice of witch burning was done by people who only by happenstance were Christians. Just as the Columbine shootings were done by atheists. The Old Testament is not followed by Christians. As for paganism itself, the religion was the first form of Catholicism, and much of our holidays were originally started by pagans. Myself, I do not appreciate the removal of Christmas and God in this country. This nation was founded One Nation Under God. The laws and morals that everyone in this country follows came from the Bible. So if you live in this country and are another religion you need to respect ours as much as we do yours. If you are offended by the Christmas aisle in Walmart, then don't go down it. I am offended by the liberals in this country trying to remove Christianity, and people making it sound evil. I don't think all of the younger generations understand the drastic implications of the anti-Christian movement.

Was that ever endorsed by the Bible? No, it wasn't. That was something evil men did, they were not told to do so by the Scriptures. So no Christian is going to want people to be burnt at the stake. Your question is simply (and quite obviously) just a way to anger Christians. If you don't have anything better to do than attempt to anger Christians then I suggest you get a hobby...

I do not believe in any form of persecution for anyone that doesnt share the same beliefs as I do. Innocent people were hung in Salem many years ago. But for some has things really changed? I try to keep an open mind. One God for all is what I belief and if God himself could speak He gives me the thumbs up for that.

Do you secretly wish that Christians would start being fed to lions again? As for the witches, you really should ask the vatican in Rome about that. The Romans seemed to have a thing about burning people alive as was evidenced by the pagan ruler, Nero, who burned thousands of Christians alive as 'Roman candles" for his pagan "garden parties".
See. It can all be thrown right back in your face. Here's another one for you- do you secretly wish the dark times of atheistic terror would return to Russian Jews under the "leadership" of another atheist like Joseph Stalin or Nikita Kruschev? Thousands tortured and murdered. Yup. Atheists never did any wrong to anyone. The victims of the atheist Stalin's purges beg to differ. Let's not get started on the atheist regime of Pol Pot. Too many atheistic skeletons in that mindless, atheist murderers closet. No, really- there is (or was until they cleaned them out).

i think of it is irrelevant if somebody stated that or no longer. it is like asserting "Do you adult men think of the KKK kills dogs for relaxing?". I advise rather, does it count number in the event that they kill dogs for relaxing or no longer? specific, as an animal lover that would rather piss me off, besides the undeniable fact that it is in comparison to as though it excuses them in the event that they do no longer do this. They nonetheless attempt to hold close colored people from timber so what does it count number in the event that they do different undesirable issues? So sure, the Atheist replaced into incorrect for asserting that approximately witches, besides the undeniable fact that it is not significant, because of the fact as you stated, the OT nonetheless preaches to kill non believers and gays and stone them to death and issues like this. So this question should not be focused on in spite of if it says to burn witches or no longer, it would be focused on in spite of if the OT is appropriate to the Bible and Christian ideals or no longer. it is the genuine question here it is appropriate. And sure, the OT is appropriate because of the fact Jesus stated you will desire to stay with it and stated that he had come to fulfill the regulations interior the OT (Matthew 5:17 - New testomony). of those regulations, is the regulation to stone homosexuals and non believers. So the flaws that are written interior the previous testomony are very appropriate to each physique who's following the recent testomony. so a approaches as the place we get our morals from, it is each physique's wager and no person knows for specific. yet what we do comprehend is that morality replaced into written approximately and created long in the past the Bible or perhaps the previous testomony. study some Socrates or Plato as an occasion. they are asserting Socrates replaced into the father of morality, even though it is incredibly much specific he did no longer create it. yet he did carry forth critically approximately it and tried to set an occasion in his own existence, and he got here alongside way in the past Christianity or the OT. so as this is evidence in itself that morality did no longer come from the Bible, so the Atheist is incorrect (even although he replaced into being sarcastic) and in case you theory that then you definately are incorrect too.

There is no such mandate in the New Testament for the church to control the state nor to physically punish unbelievers.
Do you take responsilibility for all the chaos unleashed by atheists in the 20th century? Do you long to have another Joseph Stalin and Mao Pal Pot? At least the people burning witches if nothing else thought they were serving a higher purpose for God. What higher purpose is being served by putting people you disagree with in mass graves?

I recently got around to watching the movie "Jesus Camp". During one scene Becky Fisher calls Harry Potter a warlock and an enemy of God. She says "If Harry Potter had been alive during the days of the Old Testament, he would have been killed!". The crowd cheered. I found it very frightening. It made me wonder what will happen to atheists like my husband and me if they truly do establish the theocracy they are aiming for.

How does this have anything to do with "Christians"?
Why not ask it of everyone?
How about asking..."CHRISTIANS: Are you glad that McDonald's fries their fries in better oil now? Or do you secretly wish that the practice of clogging people's veins with animal fat should return?"
Its about as related as your question.
Keep up the questions though...
The fact that you belong to an extremely small population of the world that does not believe in a higher power is incredibly frustrating, I'm sure. You must continue to find ways to make your religion better and if this is the best you got...then good luck.
As far as most Christians are concerned...you aren't going to be condemned by them for not accepting Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior.
If you want to spend an eternity burning in Hell...then that's completely up to you. They respect your choice not to worship God...why don't you respect theirs?

I am a Forgive Affirmed Spirit, but today, although it is not witch burning, non Christians are oppressed in the US through laws that protect the status quo of Christianity for privilige and power and prestige in it's society.
One is the Privacy Act of 1974
Hides religion from formal documents while allowing for it's majority to control in a social engine networked setting, thereby excluding outsiders from power privilige and prestige and continuing to establish itself as the impetus for changes it desires.....disregarding all other minority religions and oppressing them into the pavement
