...What's wrong with you? Like Polo-Vegetarians, you love all of god's creatures, except for the chicken? Or does it just taste too good? It doesn't make sense!

I didn't mean what's wrong with meat eaters, I'm a meat eater. It just annoys me when people say they're vegetarians but they still eat chicken or fish. Does that mean they love all of god's creatures EXCEPT for that animal? I eat meat a lot, I know that it was put there for us to eat, but why do people say they're vegetarians when they still eat meat?

Non vegan vegetarians? That really doesn't make sense when followed by something about chickens.
A vegan avoids ALL animal products
A vegetarian avoids the flesh of ALL animals and slaughterhouse by products but may or may not want to use eggs or dairy.
Under no circumstances does a vegetarian eat chicken (or fish). Sadly...there is alot of misinformation floating around the Internet so that leads some to think that vegetarians eat poultry and fish.

Ok, first of all, you need to get educated about the different types of vegetarians. Just because someone is not a vegan, doesn't mean they eat chicken and fish. Those that eat chicken and fish are not vegetarians at all. I'm not a vegan, but I don't eat ANY meat.
Second of all, it's ignorant to assume that all vegetarians don't eat meat because they believe they are God's creatures. I couldn't give a **** less about animals being god's creatures or whatever. I don't eat meat because I find it disgusting to chew through flesh and eat something that once walked, flew or swam. Not because I feel sorry for or love the animals ok? I really don't even like animals, they're smelly.
Another thing, I actually think its good that people eat meat because there are too many animals in this world and they'll die anyway, so might as well have someone eat them..... just as long as it's not me.

Chickens aren't vegetables, so a vegetarian would not eat them. My concern for how chickens are treated is why I avoid eggs whenever possible-- it's been well over 10 years since I've used them in cooking. Also, I use very little dairy but couldn't call myself a vegan since I do use it, particularly when I'm out somewhere & there isn't much option. However, no matter where I am, I do *not* eat chickens or other birds, sea creatures or anyone else.
As to your question: What's 'wrong' with me it that I don't always have the time or the energy to prepare everything from 'scratch' & many premade items contain some dairy & occasional egg (it's relatively easy to avoid meat products). Also, some of my loved ones aren't vegetarian & when I'm with them I don't want to cause *too much* controversy-- I won't eat meat no matter what, but if someone offers me some cake or whatever I accept.

These people calling themselves "vegetarians" don't really know what it means or are trying to be a part of a group for whatever reason, or maybe they just find it more convenient than explaining why they don't eat certain flesh and they do eat others. I am a PESCEtarian (I eat fish/seafood), but I am usually very careful about labeling myself as such. However, most meat-eaters don't know what this is, and it requires a explanation which is not always easy to give. It also means that sometimes they make the mistake of assuming that I will eat chicken or other birds. I usually tell them "I don't eat anything with warm blood"-- to me, this means meat. To others, "mammal" defines meat.

I completely agree with you. Some people think that certain animals "feel" more than others. Like people that eat fish. Apparently the are treated better than cows or chickens. Personally, I think that if you choose to be veggie, you should go all the way and not eat meat at all. I hope I helped.

I'm a lacto-ovo vegetarian, and I eat no meat whatsoever...and I also don't eat gelatin. And yes, it does bother me when people tell me they are a vegetarian but that they still eat some meat. If they say that, it doesn't give meaning to the word "VEGetarian." But that's for animal rights...if it's for religious reasons, I def. understand!

I'm vegetarian but not vegan. I don't consider those people who eat chicken or fish to be vegetarians, so please don't classify me as one of them.
The word "meat" means only red meat for some people, but I don't go by that. I don't eat animals.

I'm a vegetarian and I don't eat fish or fowl. If a person eats any meat of any kind they are not any kind of vegetarian.

Meat is consider Beef and Pork. The people that eat Fish and Chicken all called semi-vegetarian. If you look at the food pyramid, its label meat and poultry and fish group. But most people consider it a meat because of its protein content.

If someone eats fish, chicken, shrimp or any other animal, they are not vegetarian. If they say that they are, they are lying.
