I take a vegetarian multiple. No gelatin, no milk byproducts, no nutrients from animal sources. I have seen people here recommend Centrum to vegetarians, but I'd be willing to bet it has gelatin since most of the mainstream brands do.

Well, it is not very healthy to take supplements to replace a balanced diet. Most people become vegan to have a healthy diet. A diet with wholefoods, organic fruits and vegetables and grass fed beef is what is best for you in my opinion. Humans were designed to eat meat and animal products. You just need to look at the stomachs of herbivores and carnivores to see the difference. If your not having meat you need to have a lot of like Lentils, Chickpeas and Kidney Beans. I can think of what is good for calcium off the top of my head at the moment. Vitamins are just concentrated forms of the animal products like fish oil etc. So it kind of defeats the purpose of being Vegan in the first place. Also, the Vitamins aren't always in their natural form after they have been processed, so they aren't as good for you.

I'm a vegan and know that gelatin is non-vegan and that most vitamins not labeled vegan contain gelatin. I buy vegan vitamins from Wholefoods

I've been vegan since conception, and I've never had to take a vitamin of any kind.
Thanks for the heads-up, though!

There are quite a few vitamins that do not contain gelatin, and are veg*n friendly. I'm sure many unaware veg*n will appreciate you pointing that out.

Obviously someone isn't vegan if they don't know that vitamins have gelatin and other sh*t in them. Maybe thats why they sell vegan multivitamins...........for "vegans".
Gee, doesn't that tell you that "vegans" aren't the only people that take them?

Like I have time to check for "gelatin" in my damn multi-vit capsules. Oh yes, Vegan Vits are terrific. Their absorbability is usually way below that of other multi-vits, and cost 2-3 x's what the genuine article does... but by god, the capusule is "vegan gelatin"!!! That's simply brill!!

I have no problem finding vegan multivitamins. There are even one-a-day vegan multivitamins.
But thanks for the heads-up for those who may not know.
