I ate meat my whole life. but as a 21 yr old boy from canada, I believe in god and decided to become a fulltime vegetarian 2 weeks ago.

right away I noticed a dramatic increase in pooing sessions. before going vegetarian, I pooed maybe once every 3 days. but the past 2 weeks I've gone pooing pretty much everyday..

More vegetables = more fiber = more poo. On the bright side, however, poo made primarily from vegetables does not smell as bad, and is generally easier to pass than, poo made primarily from meat and other animal products.

Hope this helps.

As a vegetarian you tend to consume more fiber and vegetable proteins don't sit in your system as long as animal proteins so...it's normal to poo more.

It's actually a really good thing. I went veg when I was about 13 and have never been constipated or anything like that. No tummy problems. That's why the risk of colon cancer and things to do with your bowel go down because things don't sit it your system nearly as long. Animal proteins are so much harder on your stomach and digestive system.

Think. Thats how long meat would sit it your system and clog you up at least three days. YUCK.

Ya, a vegetarian diet rich in beans, veggies, and fruit will do that. I would also like to add that it's a darn good thing you went vegetarian, once every 3 days is not healthy. A healthy person who is getting enough fiber in their diet should be pooping at least twice a day.

i depends... i poop a whole lot... but i know some meat eaters.. (well they eat many vegetables also... fruits... fresh produce.. they have a well balanced diet.. (that's important whether you eat meat or not) and.. they sure poop a mile sometimes)....

who are regular... and i know some vegetarians who don't have many movements at all during the week.

it depends... but when you change over to more hard celled materials such as the fresh fruits, veggies.. and legumes... tubers.. all that.. roots.. nuts.. seeds.... your bowel production will increase!

:D that's a good thing.

If you're vegetarian, you're probably eating more fiber, and if you eat more fiber, you're going to poop more. You absolutely want to poop every day; it's very unhealthy to have stuff hanging around your intestines for three days.

You should be, at least once a day.
It doesn't sound like a good thing to have putrid feces in your body for over three days.
As long as it doesn't still look like food when it comes out, you should be fine.

Wow, you pooed every 3 days? That's extremely unhealthy. A few more years of that and you'd have got colon cancer. Pooping daily is the MINIMUM. Some do it twice a day, that's even better.
