And where do you give the shot?

Thanks to all who were concerned about my cat (Taz thanks you too). This is a medication that was prescribed for him earlier. My sister lived with me then and handled his care. Our vet has been closed the last couple of weeks due to ill health (we live out in the country). The folks on Yahoo Answer are pretty quick to respond so I was trying to get it in him as quickly as possible. I've had several cats over the years and all but one lived to be 15 or older (Taz is 10 now) so I am not an irreponsible pet owner (the duh's really aren't necessary). Thanks again for the concern of my cat's well being. :)

Maybe you can contact another vet in another city and ask? Let them know you're experience and they can probably give you advise. Good Luck

Is the medication you have a pill or a shot? Just follow the directions from the earlier illness and at least the cat will be started on the penicillin and you can adjust the dosage when you can find your vet.

I might try calling a vet at the closest SPCA, just don't give them your name in case they think you are not a good parent.
And if you have an ASPC close they will let you bring the cat to their doctors.

lots of luck.

If you medicate the cat with medicine that was not prescribed by the vet you could kill it. If you don't know how much to give then I can only imagine that you didn't take the cat to the vet. If you got the medicine from the vet and can't remember how much to give it then call the vet back and ask for an explanation of the dosage.

did you understand that concrete is porous so this is going to soak up the scent of the urine and the cat will imagine it is the position he might want to pass. clean up the perfect you are able to utilizing an enzymatic purifier consisting of effortless answer or Nature's Miracle. Then purchase some lower priced spray varnish and spray over the cement the position your cat has urinated. this may seal the scent into the concrete so no one can scent it. Take your cat to the vet to rule out any ailment. Cats can get diabetes, so as that would want to be something to analyze out. even as my cat had urinary tract complications he tried to urinate yet couldn't. The urine subsidized up into his kidneys and he pretty a lot died. I had to regulate his food to objective to stay away from him from getting this back. Cats that are neutered are a lot less in all probability to get this. I also lost one cat to kidney failure brought about by utilizing a urinary tract an infection. this may take position interior 24 hours, so in case you think something like this, a right away vet visit is mandatory.

It's NOT an injection but it's Amoxicillin - and the Vet neds to prescribe the Correct Dose.

Is your cat male? A Urinary tract infection can kill him because he is blocked up. If your cat is a female the Urinary tract Infection is just as infectious.

Not all urinary tract problems have concomittant infections and any antibiotic may have no effect whatsoever. The problem is most likely an imbalance in the pH of the cat's urine causing the formation of struvite crystals which can totally block the cat from urinating and cause death within 48 hours from uremic poisoning. It is not something for you to play around with and diagnose or treat yourself.

Too much antibiotic of any sort can destroy the beneficial bacteria in the gut and cause other problems.

Give the amount your vet says to give in the place your vet says to give it. I'm assuming you bought this at the co-op. For the first time you need the guidance of a professional.
