NOT a question targeting those who allow a little "leeway" in interpretations/accuracy but to those who think the King James Version is 100% infallable word of God:

“Forty and two years old was Ahaziah when he began to reign, and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. His mother's name also was Athaliah the daughter of Omri.” 2 Chronicles 22:2
“Two and twenty years old was Ahaziah when he began to reign; and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Athaliah, the daughter of Omri king of Israel.” 2 Kings 8:26
How did that come about then?

As you say finding a contradiction does not invalidate the Bible. However. it does prove, that is prove as in certain, that the Bible is not inerrant.
Nobody claims that evolutionary theory is inerrant. Lots of people claim that the King James Version of the Bible is.
This question is aimed at them.

In 2 Kings 8:26, it shows Ahaziah's true age. In 2 Chronicles 22:2, it is saying that is how long Ahaziah was a son of the house of Omri, through his mother.

That is probably, in fact, most likely a copyist error. The Bible was copied by hand many times before it made it to the translators for King James. I don't believe that the King James is the only version of the Bible as it is a translation itself. To my knowledge there aren't any original copies of the Bible (that may not be true though). Anyhow, if the translations are coming from the same manuscripts, then how can one be considered more holy than the next?

I think there is another one that says either Samual or Soloman was like 7 when he be came king then later it changes. I preffer the KJV but own and reference others. I just like how KJV was written but I don't think it is the ONLY infallible word of GOD. Actually referencing and comparing the the different versions can help understanding. That and using a concordance like strongs.But ya there are some "typos".

I agree there are some minor differences in similar stories in the bible but the the main point of the stories remains the same. The focus of the Old Testament is the revelation of God and how much He loved His adopted nation Isreal.
I do find it strange that people look so hard for these minor differences in stories in order to dismiss the bible as irrelevent but when you look at something like the theory of evolution with all it mega holes in it and blatantly obvious contraditions it is supposed to be accepted as scientific fact.....funny old world eh !!

hi! us atheist point out these comparisons and contradictions all the time, they fall on deaf keyboards. They can not explain it so they either do not answer or they lie to justify the text, that is the main problem with faith, its un-justifiable, you can not explain the bible with any intelligence, just faith, faith that it really is the word of God and this faith stops them from seeing the real truth, that the bible is the word of MAN!

it comes about that it is proven that the King James version has over 2,000 mistakes in it. the King James bible supports ecclesiastical tradition.

I like the KJV personally, but what you are describing is a typical example of contradictions between bible books in probably all translations of the bible.
Which is why I'm agnostic.

"Allegory" is not to be taken literally nor historically.
As for the KJV, it's the best bible for allegory study.
Two Adams
Two Cains
Two Enochs
Two Ahaziahs
Perhaps for compare-i-son of image vs likeness.
Ever look in a mirror, to note image isn't likeness.

I don't see the big deal.
If this was an important theological point of contention, wouldn't someone have "corrected" it?
Stick with the NJB, God's Own Translation.
