Please help me, I woke up this morning and it sounded like my neck popped really loudly, and I can't turn my head to the right at all, if I do it hurts very extremely badly. I am having to sit right now with my body facing forward and my head to the left. I am in intense pain and I am supposed to be at work at 9. Do you think it is a pinched nerve or what? Again, please please please help me, I'm in pain.

Ok I tried the heating pad and letting hot water run over it, and it's still killing me. What should I do?

Thanks to everyone that answered, I did end up going to the Dr, he said the muscles were just extremely tightened up, and he gave me some muscle relaxer. Again, thanks for the help! <3

Take some ibuprofen like Motrin But take about 800 milligrams or four pills at 200 each you have strained your neck muscle I do this all the time what you need to do is get to the Dr's and they will give you a muscle relaxer that will help more than the Motrin also alternating between heat and ice on it will help too but the Motrin should at least get you through work. good luck

It could be a pinched nerve, as you suggested, or the muscles could have locked up. At home try a hot shower, and let the water beat against your neck, for a few moments. If this doesn't work, then your best solution is to see a doctor, and let him help you.

Pl keep your hand on the table and roll any round thing like pen or something like it over your thumb; especially the second bone of your thumb reprents neck.
Then roll the thumb sides by slightly tilting the thumb.
Repeat the process on painful site and start neck movements. You will feel freed within a minute!

Actually, COLD may be better than HEAT. It sounds like a pinched nerve or a muscle spasm. I get them in my back and heat makes them worse -- cold seems to make them better. You need to get to a doctor -- they can give you muscle relaxants and let you know if there is an actual rupture of a disc involved.

i know ur freaked out and everything but thats happend to me 3 times this year, and i can asure you it will go away on its on in 2-4 days, juss slowly keep stretching it and if u have one of those massager thigns use that, and keep up the warming pads....i know it hurts but dont stress over TOO MUCH, it will go away by itself, you most likely juss pulled a muscle in your sleep, give it a few days if it is still there then get some medical advice, but im sure it will go away on its own

Go to a chiropractor as soon as possible!
A chiropractor will re-align your bones in your neck and relieve that nerve.
Since your nerve may be bruised, it will take a couple of days to feel all the way better.
go now!
