Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also [do] ye. Its really easy to sacrifice anger and emotion toward the will of God. He has shown us mercy and forgiveness and tolorance so we should for each other. What is difficult to cupple with that in the human notion of "giving" isn't just to wish someone well and pray for them but to humbly act with a swiftness to see to their needs...giving as we are blessed to give. Charity has to come above these petty disputes because that is how we reach out to strangers. The other typically has to do with how we treat a "neighbor" or "brother/sister in Christ". That's how I see it. Love in Christ, ~J~ Perhaps if one is willing to part with time and resources in order to be there for another human..as selfish as we are..it wouldn't be such a stretch to also extend understanding and patience.
