If you haven't already decided on what you want, where you want it, and how big; then are you really really certain your ready for ink?

Tattooing isn't a fashion whim.. its with you for life. Yes you can get it removed at great expense later

But its with you a long long time.

If this is your first inking, and you are really really determined to go ahead then have it somewhere discreet, somewhere ut can't be easily seen, and make it fairly small.. that way round if you find you dont like it, or its a mistake or whatever its relatively easy to cover up again.

if you make it too large in to prominent a place and you decide you dont like it, or its no longer a fashion statement then it can be a problem.

But seriously think it through long and hard before going under the needle. If you want to get inked fine, go ahead and do it, if you have doubts then don't do it...... wait untill the time is right (that may be next weekend, that may be never, but wait untill you are certain its what you want to do.

hi,
Yes the tattoo is a popular one but its also a very nice one you can also make it unique with shading and or different colours my advise is just don't get thorns put on the rose i would go small then you can always have it covered up i had a tattoo on my right arm and ended up hating it now i have a snake running from my shoulder to my elbow which covers the (devil on a motorcycle) tattoo i have a Phoenix on my left arm to match the snake (same trible around animal) ide say go for it I'm aiming for a full back piece soon cant wait for that its gunna be a horse and hounds seen :D .... have fun i know you will like your new tattoo but just in case you don't you can always have it cover with something bigger if you get the rose smaller :) ... take care and enjoy yourself.....
oh and p.s if it is your first tattoo nothing to worry about and make sure you moisturise it every time you get a bath/shower after its healed this will keep it moist and stop cracking of the skin i use Vaseline intensive care have a word with your tattooist's and make him/HER!!!! (everyone thinks tattooists have to be male) a new Friend you never know you might get the tattoo bug and end up with allot (just like i did) lol

No credible tattoo artist will tattoo a fourteen year old, even with parental consent. That tattoo sounds ugly and cliched, and I almost guarantee that you'll regret it, because you're not at an age where you can make educated decisions about forever. So don't get it. Really bad idea.

to be honest if you are having it tomoz then you should really have chosen the design already. you can't change your mind once it's on! i have a pixie tattoo but it goes from my ankle to my knee so prob a bit too big for you. i am heavily tattooed(& a woman) & each part of my body is themed with a different design.ichose my designs very carefully & each 1 means something to me personally.just 1 more thing, when you do choose your tattoo go for something worth looking at & not a little silly thing that wouldn't be worth the price you'd pay!!

if your getting a tattoo tomorrow and still dont know what you want its probably the wrong time to be getting, im supposed to be getting one at the end of the month, ive been thinking for weeks trying to decide what to get, i have an idead so still not sure so might have to cancel the appt.

rose tattoos are nice tho, as long as you know thats what you want and are really happy with the design, it doesnt matter what people think

my advice is just think hard about the design

i'd go for something other than a rose nearly everyone has one
make it kinda small so its easy to cover if you want to
i have 5 tatoos had them done when i was 18 and 20
dont regret any of them i'm 32 now the one on my ankle hurt the most to get done

I like the idea, but it is quite common.... So maybe you should go for some different flower? One that says something about you as a person?
As for Size, you know the little bump of your ankle, about that size. Oh, and you should have the stalk like comeing/spiralling down, that would look really nice

Think long and hard about having this done.

I had a tattoo on my arm 13 years ago and I can't stand it. Its like wearing the same hat everyday for 13 years.

As you get older you grow and your likes/dislikes change with you... please think so carefully about this.

If you still get it done- think about getting it done in simple colours like black and red (these can be removed by laser surgery with no scarring)

Green, yellow, orange and blue cannot be removed so please avoid these colours!!!

Best bet is to not get one.

1) It never ever comes off unless you spend a lot of money.
2) You have to pay for it.
3) It hurts to put it on.
4) You won't get to look at the rose nearly as often as if you simply got a really nice picture of a rose on your bedroom wall.
5) When you get old and wrinkly, tattoos look really stupid.
6) Near your ankle, it will be hidden most of the time anyway, so what's the point?
There are many more reasons tattoos are silly and pointless, in my humble opinion. After you get it done, you'll show it off for a week or two and then forget about it. Then you'll wonder why you bothered.
