I meant "attention span" not spac.

I used Adderrall but stopped bec of the arrythmia. Adderrall really improved the quality of my life a lot by allowing me to be more alert and I felt normal and could accomplish a GREAT DEAL more than since i quit taking it. I would love to try something without adverse affects. Any ideas?

Aspartame , food colorings (mostly red) and MSG are to be avoided. veg-in diet doesn't have much of these.

all Coke-Cola products has aspartame in them (minute made is a coke product)
most processed meats and store bought meats have red food colorings.
processed meats and many pre-made foods has MSG (a flavor enhancer , also a salt ).

I know that this is a sensitive area; however, I have to make a comment. I hope you aren't avoiding regular prescription medication for some reason (other than an allergic reaction to the medication). I have had ADD for over 10 years. I started with ritalin which was difficult. I had to remember to take pills which were designed so I could remember to take the pills. Three times a day. Now, I take concerta once a day. It works for 12 hours. In my case, I have no side effects at all. The problems of ADD are gone. I can stay on task. I can remember names. I can follow conversations. I have friends. These sound like simple abilities. For someone with ADD, they are impossible. He can't hold a job, keep a friend, have a romance. For me, it was if I had on earphones attached to a radio that was just off a station and very loud. It was hell. Please don't put yourself or your child through that. Try traditional medication first. Take my word for it. You have no idea the hell people with ADD go through every day of their lives.

I grew up with a brother who had add. my family went through hell with him, and school wasn't any pic nic either. the only thing that seemed to work was putting him on a vegan diet. I have no idea how it works, but I think it has something to do with the chemicals that exist in meat, such as growth hormones, and also the uric acid levels. but it did wonders for him. my parents were at their wits end, and so was my brother. My parents enlisted the advice of a hollistic health professional, and after spending time with my brother on a few appointments, she advised that we put him on a vegetarian doet for a while. It worked so well, I cannot begin to tell you what it did for out family, my brother became a different person.

May want to try coffee and eliminate any sugar from the dietary.

Coffee works in reverse to what it does with other people.. is calming rather than a stimulant.
