I drank Silk soy milk for the longest time right after giving up cow's milk. I liked the fact that I could choose plain or vanilla (you can't do THAT with cow's milk!! lol.) I started getting rumblies in my tumblies after a while and I decided to switch things up a bit. I tried almond milk and found that is was a tad too gritty for me and my cereals. Then I went to Rice Dream rice milk and that's what I've been drinking ever since. It's consistency is closer to a cow's skim milk than soy milk is. (and that's what I was last drinking when consuming cow juice so it felt familiar to me).
I think soy milk has more added vitamins and minerals than rice milk. To me, rice milk cooks and bakes better. Almond milk is really good in coffee....they all have their pros and cons. But don't take my word for it! Try out whatever you're interested in and see for yourself. To get the true taste, try them out just plain (in a glass - maybe w/ a cookie), on your cereal, in your tea or coffee....they will taste different in different places (just like cow's milk). Good luck!

Soy milk tastes kinda gritty, but they have lots of different flavors. You just have to get used to the texture, but the chocolate is delicious =]

soy.
rice is ok but it's better for cooking.
almond milk is alright but a bit rich. you must try them yourself as a experience... all are enjoyable in their own right but in my opinion...
soymilk is best for those replacement of cows milk lifestyle.
you must try soymilk.. silk is a good brand, it's more than reasonable. try it with cereals, fruits.. my favs are blueberries and strawberries with silk.. along with mashed blackberries in soymilk alone and drink it, very good stuff.
their chocolate is like heaven, once you get used to the reasoning that it's beans not dairy.
it's also much better for you especially if you've got cholesterol issues and hypertension problems.
of course if you also suffer gerd and an intolerance to lactose.
