I'm a sucker for the M25 in the UK and the A4 in the Netherlands (the Heineken brewery is on it).

I hate the M25! All the journeys I make on it take far longer than I think they should. I think the roads I like most are the autoroutes in France, because they are simply great to drive on and they have regular stopping places called 'aires' which are far superior to the service stations we get. I know you have to pay tolls but I think they're worth it because the French keep their roads in much better condition than we do.

I like the M23 (Short & Sweet) and the A23 (Great fun) A26 From Lewes (East Sussex) Through to Tunbridge wells is great road when quiet too.

I find M25 plain, M40 boring and always raining (anyone else get that?) M1 too long and always smothered in roadworks, and M6 is like my bed, I fall asleep on it so avoid it.

Any of the urban motorways (Westway, A38(M), A167(M)...etc). They're a relic of the time when people didn't care about ripping through communities to provide fastish urban travel. And are therefore very mad.

there's a 256 metre stretch of the m42 between swaffam services and the (fourteenth) emerency telephone, where there's a pleasing camber, and the weft of the tarmac plays tantalisingly against the wider tyre.
