For about 4-6 months I was strictly vegetarian and I loved it, though I got so much critisim by my friends and family... living down south your required to eat a little red meat, you know? I want to take the next step and go completely vegan but without the support it's awfully difficult. Any advice?

How can you have any pudding if you don't eat your meat?

If you don't work, it will be very difficult. You just have to try to tell them why you want to do it, and explain what you're doing...if they are still not supportive, you may have to make due with what is in the home. If they see you are serious they may become a little more supportive. Sometimes people think you are just going through a phase or not serious about something until they see your actions.

Do a LOT of research and compile facts on how to do it in a healthy manner relative to your age. Ask your parents to sit down with you, present your facts to them in a mature manner and ask if they will support you on this? IF they don't, you might be up a creek until your old enough to move out. Especially if someone else i.e. parent does the grocery shopping and cooking.

You don't need anyones approval to make a good decision. Vegan is HARD. Just eat the way you wish (vegan), you realize eventually, after you've been eating this way for a while, that no one will have anything to say about it. Just give it time. You'll probably feel healthier too.

Stick to your plan kiddo, you'll have a longer, healthier life, unfortunately all the family members will probably be long dead from diabetes, heart attack and stroke, so they'll not get to congratulate you on your success, and on the down side it's a bummer at age 105 not having anyone attending your funeral.

Well ask your family members to respect your wishes and ask them to at least purchase these items for you. If they aren't really open to this, then being a sadist i love doing many painful things. Sooo I would sugest printing out food facts of danger of their food lifestlye also visual images work well too. So tape these on every piece of food their prefer.

You are in charge of your own body...as long as you are old enough to make certain choices...if you are younger than 18 years of age I'd would not go on the vegan diet....your body is growing and needs so many different minerals and vitamins that many different plants, animals and fish provide...after you finish growing into full adulthood ..then you are free to change your eating habits...also see a doctor for a good checkup the medical adviser can do blood tests to see if you are lacking something or if you are normal before you start a strict diet.
It's all in your best interest to do this change in a sensible way so you don't hurt your organs like kidneys and liver. We are all criticized from time to time by family members or friends...but if you just say thanks for your interest...and at the same time kind of let it go in one ear and out the other.....it won't be so hurtful.....they are just concerned for your health....

Stay strong. The weak will try to drag you down with them. Don't let it happen. You have a vision and a plan, which puts you up on 99% of them.

Peace

You had better get your own mini-fridge and buy all of your own food. Vegetarianim is one thing, but being a vegan takes a lot more effort and planning.

We have evolved to be omniverous, we need high protein.
If you lived alone or with other vegans, you might get support.
But family will not want to prepare special meals for you.
