and its Lacto-Ovo. [: !
I'm a lacto ovo, too.
Things you could ask your parents to buy, not only for you, But for the good of your whole family:
Vegetables: Broccoli, Cauliflower, Carrots, Spinach, things of that sort.
Fruits: tomatoes, Raisins, Grapes, Cranberries, Apples, Oranges,
I buy blueberries and Raspberries often. [:
Peanuts, Almonds, Sunflower seeds, Pumpkin seeds, Cashews,
Things like that.
You're right,
You can't survive on Macaroni and Cheese, Or french fries for the rest of your life.
you need Vitamin B12, Protein, Iron, Calcium, and things of that sort.
Tofu, veggie burgers, and things of that sort (Soya Products) are a GREAT source of protein!
Soy milk has B12 in it.
(You NEED to get these nutrients)
If you want Omega-3 (Found in Fish),
you can get it with FlaxSeed Cookies
(Sold at Walmart + Shoprite)
I havent tried them yet, But they look absolutely delicious. [:
People swear by them!

You want to be ovo-lacto vegetarian, which is a good start. A vegan consumes no animal products whatsoever.
So see if your parents will cook the side veggies without meat sauce or stock. Heck, offer to help cook! Ask your parents if they'll get veggie burgers and analogues for you at the grocery store--help your mom go grocery shopping and figure out what you would like. As your parents cook the meat, you can heat up your analogue--the veggie burger/veggie ribs/tofu/tempeh--and eat it with the veggie side dishes the rest of your family is having.
www.vegweb.com has some fairly simple recipes, and "How it All Vegan!" and "Garden of Vegan" by Sarah Kramer and Tanya Barnard have fairly simple recipes. Also check out "Conveniently Vegan" by Debra Wasserman; it has recipes that feature convenience foods.
Good luck!

There's a variety of foods you can eat. My all time favourite is sloppy joes(made vegetarian by tofu or you could buy fake meat). Samosas, green onion cakes, sandwichs with fake turkey, bologna or whatever you like. Smoothies with some tofu in it tastes great(quick and easy too).Stir fry is simple and yummy and you could also add tofu to that too(protein and iron are important so thats why I keep saying tofu)and tofu in some sauces tatses pretty good if I may say so.There are some salads that are not ordinary that taste pretty good too(not just lettuce and salad dressing) like putting some tomatoes, fetta cheese, cucumbers, purple onions will make any salad taste much better.Be creative is one thing I can say. When I was 14 I would add more to the recipes then called for if I knew what I was doing. With out your imagination being vegetarian will be much harder, but it can be super simple if you plan ahead just a little even. Congradulations on your decision and I hope you stick with it!!!!

That's your call. However you simply are not a vegetarian if you eat meat. Personally I would just bring some food to school (and in fact that is what I did throughout high school). Just prepare a sandwich before you leave in the morning, that's like 5 minutes work. It's not like your only options are to eat meat or starve.

Go to the store w/ your mom and hit up the freezer section. There's a brand called Sunshine Valley Farms and they have a wide variety of soy products such as chicken patties, hot dogs, burgers, bacon, sausage, etc. It's all meat free and it tastes pretty good...plus in is a healthy alternative to meat and it will give you the nutrients you need. Pick out a few of those things and make it to go along w/ your 2 side dishes. You could also get some tofu and mash it up and put it in things like mac & cheese and mashed potatoes, etc. You can't even taste it and it has a lot of protein in it. Good luck!!

ok. im fourteen too and just love being a vegetarian. at first it was hard finding good food. but i have a favorite food now. go buy the italian bread (all you need is like half a loaf) take it and slice it in half where you can cut out the inside. cut out inside. you will need portabella mushrooms. cut out stems and cook them in a man smothered with butter. take the bread and place cheese ono it. as much as you want. put it in the oven to make it nice and crispy. once the mushrooms are done, take them and place em on the bread. a small salad goes great and you can mix it up. once i added some nut mix and it was great (the salad not mushrooms) i just go buy veggies, nuts, fruit, bread and other stuff and experiment. it is (usually) good. peta2.com has a lot of ideas for us animal rights vegan people

No, you want to be a lacto ovo vegetarian. Vegans cannot be lacto ovo because that is dairy and eggs. Just read ingredients, find new veggies, learn to replace meat with soy products. You just have to try hard and it'll be easy.

yup yup, lecto ovo is correct.
think about it, all the countries in the world, all the things they eat, all the things eaten in your own country, all those exotice fruit and veg found in indipendent grocers, all those tofu, soya, wheat protein products found in supermarkets... you know all the things you cant eat? trhe only things you cant eat are dead animals or relatives of your pet goldfish. not really that difficult is it?
RIGHT, now, food!
get your parents to buy lots of kinds of veg, some flavoured tofu and quorn, a box of vegetarian oxo cubes (or veggie stock cubes) some italian mixed herbs, a onion and a tin of tomatos. and cous cous that is the basic base of your dinner
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AnxwQ.fvZASQgkgx4T_I6pkjzKIX;_ylv=3?qid=20070916172600AAysKjt
whatever your parents eat, just ask your parent to make the same for you and then take a bowlful out before she adds meat, then you can put it in a smaller pan, add some quorn chunks or butter beans or lentils
try stuffed pepper - two peppers, chop the top off one and take the seeds out , chop the other one up chop up a tomato, and half an onion, put it all in a pan with oil, add corgette if you want, in the mean time, put cous cous in a heat proof jug, boil water in a kettle, pour the water over the cous cous and lay a plate over it and wait for the cous cous to soak up the water, then, add your veg and some herbs! put the cous cous in the other pepper, pile it up if you want! go crazy, put it in the oven for 30 minutes, take it out, grate cheese over it, and serve! add a load more cous cous if you want then just eat it with the vegetables your parents made
look on google, if you feel like a curry or bolognese, or chili, just type ANYTHING you want in google and put "egetarian" next to it. if anything you have more options than before because there are somany new things to discover

I'm new to this too, though my partner has been vegetarian for over 10 of his 32 years of life. He seems quite healthy too, and not overweight like me.
Anyway, since I don't know any veggie meals, and sometimes I have to fix my own supper, I simply take cans of northern beans, peas, and corn, and mix them together. I like to add veggie butter, called "Smart Move", I think. It's healthier not to use butter, but I love the taste it brings.
That's a simple and really cheap dish that will fill you up, taste good and your parents won't mind buying it, since it's actually cheaper than just about any other thing you could cook. Plus, you can keep the leftover in the refrigerator in a covered container for several days or freeze it if you wish for a long time.
We also make veggie burritos with lettuce, onions, tomatoes, beans or hummus, and if you will eat cheese you could add a little of it, but it's not necessary, and really doesn't add much to the taste.
Hummus is something I discovered and really like the roasted red pepper flavor! Eat it with healthy crackers, toast, or some other type of crusty bread.
I also have found that using powdered soy protein "96" mix, bought at a health food store, and mixed with carrot juice, which is sort of expensive, is a really good breakfast meal, or lunch.
We also often just have several cooked vegetables, like a veggie plate at a restaurant.
I don't like tofu in the chunk form and I don't really like eating veggie forms made to try to taste and look like meats. It's like why would people do that? Doesn't make sense to me.
Salads made with garbonzo beans, spinach, tomato, pineapple, black olives, carrot strips, and any of your other favorite veggies is a great meal any time of the day. I use Ranch dressing on mine, but other dressings could be good too.
One thing I have to keep in mind is that I have to change the way I think about what a "meal" is, and redefine, "breakfast", "lunch" , and "supper". They don't have to follow the format of what traditional meals are. So you don't have to have fake bacon and fake eggs to make yourself believe that you have had "breakfast".
I like bananas too, at anytime of the day, but not so much at night. I don't eat peanuts since they aren't really as good for me. But I eat pecans sometimes.
Protein is needed by your body, so eat enough "legumes", another name for beans. But I would eat the best types of beans, not just any kind.
Carrots are really good for you.

theres this brand boca-they make soy burgers, ground beef, sausages, and other things-it's all vegan, but you can basically substitute it for meat in any recipe-i like the ground beef(it's not actually beef..it's vegan) and i use it in tacos, also i chop up tofu and make tacos substituting the meat with tofu. the healthy section in the supermarket has lots of meat-substitute products to..good luck.
