I, nor anyone else, can give you a definitive diagnosis over the internet. You need to see a doctor to get a diagnosis. That being said, you probably have a case of gastroenteritis, either viral or bacterial. You probably don't have the flu. The flu is a respiratory disease and you usually don't see diarrhea with the flu. Sometime you can, but it is not a main symptom. Plus, it is a little early in the season for the flu. I'm not saying that it most definitely isn't the flu but I highly doubt it. The public in general think anytime you feel sick, it is automatically the flu, especially if you have diarrhea. Even the so-called stomach flu isn't even the flu. It's gastroenteritis that can be caused by a number of viruses, none of them influenza.

try naprosyn - "aleieve" if ibuprofen does not work. About ibuprofen, you need 800mg (4 otc pills) every 8 hours to help. Naprosyn (i never buy "aleieve" - too expensive - buy generic) would be 2 pills in the morning and 2 at night. A lot of rest helps and a lot of fluids (anything wet) helps. This is all from your sore throat and swollen glands. 90% of the time it is a virus and will run its course. If you are not better in three days or start getting worse see your doc. I'll bet in 72 hours you will be over everything. Oh, and to Betta, you do have a cold and you do have the flu as they are two in the same. If you want a clinical lecture on colds and flu and viruses and strep throat contact me. Any more questions - ask away. I am at your service. Happy to offer assistance. Good luck.

Viral gastroenteritis (commonly called the flu) can make you feel achy, tired, nauseous and have diarrhea. It can be caused by several different viruses, which are only found in humans. The infection is not usually serious and goes away on its own. It is not the same illness as influenza ("the flu"), which is caused by a virus that infects the lungs, throat and sinuses.
You can get viral gastroenteritis by eating food or drinking water contaminated with the stool (bowel movement) of an infected person. You can also get viral gastroenteritis by eating shellfish or drinking water that has been contaminated with sewage.
It is also easily spread from person-to-person by touching others or handling food with unwashed hands after using the bathroom or touching items such as diapers or linens soiled by stool and then touching your mouth.
Most people usually have symptoms about 1-2 days after infection. The illness usually lasts about 1-2 days but may last up to a week or more.
There is no medicine to cure viral gastroenteritis once you have it. There is no vaccine (shot) to prevent viral gastroenteritis. Your doctor may recommend medicine to lessen the symptoms or fluids to prevent dehydration (severe fluid loss). Drinking lots of fluids helps your body replace fluids lost by diarrhea.

Lots of things. Often the body ache is a result of the dehydration caused by the diarrhea. Try some OTC remedies, Loperamide, Pepto Bismol and their ilk. DRINK LOTS OF FLUIDS to replace what you have lost. If it persists more than three or so days, see your doctor to rule out any parasites or infection needing treatment like Clostridium Diff.
Peace.

depends, how long have you had the problem? do you have a fever? do you have any nausea or vomiting? Not enough information here to make an informed guess, let alone a diagnosis.
