I worked in a large lab. If it was in consideration of ones life and the consequences were involving the uses of certain drugs he may. Otherwise it's just not proper etiquette for a doctor to call the lab and, he wouldn't have a written report to prove his request. If the patient had some type of reaction to what the doctor gave him/her, the doctor wouldn't be able to back himself up.

There are to many possibilities and liabilities here. As a Lab tech I wouldn't give the doctor the results unless it was an emergency that involved the patients life.

I don't think so. I've known people who had to wait a really long time to find out about really serious medical problems like cancer and stuff. I think probably only if the doctor's office does their own testing can they speed up the results.
