Awhile back there actually was ALWAYS a mastercard ad involving a steakhouse in the vegetarian and vegan section.

honestly, I've never noticed the ads.
but I've seen the ads on the main Y! page and about 96% of the time the ads have to do with meat.

I agree with Krister I have only seen XM Radio. That would be quite rude though, almost as bad as advertising a porn site on the religious forum.

Yes, I have.

I reported Sainsbury's to the Advertising Standards Authority in the UK for advertising meat in the vegetarian and vegan section.

They said they had no control over the techical distribution of thier adverts in "food and drink".

The ASA threw that out and said thier adverts "were likely to cuase undue adverse effects"

The ads were removed.

The ASA complaints proceedure is anonymous in the UK

So, i also wrote to sainsbury's about 15 times over this in parallel to the formal complaint, sending them copies of the troll like abuse we get and pointing out they were sponsoring this abuse.

I kept saying to them...if a magazine had an article that said All Vegetarians are "time wasting m**th*r f******ers" would you buy an advert next to that article ??

Sending them screenshots of thier name next to this abuse seems to have brought the message home to them.

I received some compensation from them and they appear to have withdrawn thier whole camplaign.

I did all this really becasue Yahoo receive lots of money in advertising and don't seem to use any of it in resources to police the trolls.

So write to the company, contact your trading standards, it works.

What ads? I think my mind is trained to totally ignore them. They are also probably based on the info for each user.
