I'm doing a research paper that includes the pro vegetarian (such as peta) and the opposite argument which is the anti vegetarian. When I do a google search, not much comes up but media articles. Any ideas or sites that have anything "credible" for supporting anti vegetarians?

Krister, not that I would like to believe the capitalists, I realize that it's very expensive to raise meat for consumption than growing food for us to eat. It's just a comparison for a paper that I need to write and I have other sites that are supportive of vegetans/vegans but there's nothing to show the other people's views as to why they think meat is so great. There are two sides to every argument.

I don't I think I can help you there. I've never heard of such a thing. All I know is anti-veg = bad propaganda.

Dear, you are unlikely to find "anit-vegetarian/vegan" sites. Except for the veggie cults there is little interest in pushing such an agenda. If you do happen upon a site, remember like the "pro" veggie cult sites, it is pushing an agenda.

Look for balanced scientific articles. Those that list the pros and cons of each diet. I happened upon such a site at one time. It was a wonderful paper, alas, I don't have it nor do I remember it.

Some search terms may be: protein deficient diets, B12 deficiency, B12 sources, balanced nutrition, etc.

You will have to cobble information from different sources together. As I see it you will have two arguments --- one from ethics and one from diet. The one from "ethics" is going to be quite long I fear because there is a plethora of arguments out there. Good luck.

THEN YOU HAVE A QUOTE LIKE THIS:
" I have researched both sides extensively and, well, I'm a vegetarian so what does that tell you?"

Well it tells me the person doesn't do research very well nor is a critical, analytical thinker. They simply found sources that supported the decision the reactionary choice they already made.

Geesh, people, it's a simple question and the poor girl is just writing and essay.

It's true that credible anit-vegetarian sites don't exist because a vegetarian diet is healthy and there is ample research to PROVE it. However, I know what you're asking for even if it was worded in a way that contradicts itself.

http://BeyondVeg.com is by far the most enthusiastic and scholarly of the "anti veg" sites. There's also the Weston Price site (Google it). While some of the information on these sites is worth reading, I have found enough misinformation and straight-up lies to make me be very wary of either of them. I have researched both sides extensively and, well, I'm a vegetarian so what does that tell you?

I have to agree that you aren't going to find any anti-vegitarian sites. There is a site for property owners, http://www.glengarrylandowners.com that is coming up against environmentalists and yes, vegetarians but no one actually gets up and says it's meat eaters against plant eaters. It's way more subtle than that. You are going to find a lot more sites that are pro vegan and pro 'set every animal in the world free' because these get so much more press than some farmer saying he would like the right to live his life as he sees fit. I think it is simply the right to be. I'm not tolerant of animal abuse and never will be, but if I want a hamburger I should be allowed to have one.

The Vegetarian and Vegan forum in the Yahoo Answers seems like an anti-vegetarian website to me sometimes !

Perhaps you could point to this site as an example of incoherent rambles that people try to pass off as logical pro-meat discussion

Being anti-compassion isn't really something you can be credible about. The only reasons to do so are selfish and capitalistic. Nothing of the sort is ever credible.

probably not. doctor spock, famous for his infant and child care books even wrote that children should never have dairy or meat for a variety of health reasons.

my friends mother in law (a good friend of mine) just had a colonoscopy and when the doctor was checking for polyps or irregularities and he couldn't find any. he saw how healthy her colon was and asked "You must be a vegetarian?"

"Credible anti-vegetarian site" is an oxymoron.

There is more money in torturing and murdering animals than there is growing things straight from the Earth. Who do you want to believe, the compassionate or the capitalists?

Edit:
There is only one side to this story, the truth, and it ain't pretty. Keep that in mind. http://meat.org
The only people that are opposed to veg*anism are in the business of exploiting animals or they don't want to hear the truth because it is too convenient to live a lie. Live the lie all you want, it's your choice, but don't let anyone tell you that a veg diet is more likely to be flawed, yourself included.

scholar.google.com

Both PETA and the so-called anti-vegetarian sites are not credible sources of information. They may oppose each other but neither is 100% credible.

"There are two sides to every argument." Not for the idiots on THIS forum, MG. The person to whom you addressed the above quote is just ONE of the hundreds of the mentally disturbed fanatics you find on this forum.

I would try just googling, "anti vegetarian", "vegetarian deficiences" things like that. You will get quite a few scientifc and balanced articles. Interesting that you will get extremely few of the fanatical views expressed in the pro veggie-head sites.
