Research is starting to show that Vitamin K does more than play a role in blood clotting. It appears that it is important in determining where calcium is deposited. For instance woman who consume more vitamin K have a higher bone density and less calcification of the arteries. This indicates that Vitamin K may ensure calcium is deposited where it should be, in the bones rather than the arteries.
Experiments on rats have shown Vitamin K to not only prevent calcification of the arteries, but to actually reverse it. Considering calcium deposits in the arteries cause a huge reduction in the elasticity of the arteries, I would say that a Vitamin K deficiency increases the persons chance of having a heart attack, or stroke for that matter. Vitamin K has nothing to do with heart attacks....However, it is very important in the clotting process and deficiencies could mean that someone is susceptible to unusually higher levels of bleeding when he/she gets injured.

Vitamin K is essential for efficient clotting of blood so I would have to say I don't think it factors much into heart attack risk.

vit k diff causes a bleeding tendency due to thinning of the blood. that means the blood cannot form clots. that would cause a lower risk of a heart attack.
on the other hand, it would cause an increased risk of bleeding.
Things don't work that way with the body. balance is very important and is the thing that keeps our body as a whole intact.

As far as your question is concerned this will help you out:
1) At lower level of Vit K there are chances of bleeding from e.g esophageal varices , or hemoptysis, etc.
2) Vit K in higher levels can cause myocardial attack, angina or even death.
so in patients with liver and heart disease we give it with great precaution or if the patient is already having cardiac problem we don't give it at all, in CCU.
