Saturday afternoon, the 15th of September, I was trimming the roses without gloves. (couldn't find them). Needless to say, I cut the heck out of my hands. This morning, all but the worst of the cuts has nearly healed. No infections, no slow to heal. What gives? A couple of you know the answer to this (and don't need to answer), but most of you don't. Who wants to give it a shot?

You have your sugars under control. You eat a balanced diet. You cleaned the wounds. You kept them clean and allowed them to heal naturally.

If it was anything, I would love hear about it. I'm a nurse with an interest in wound care.

I can't imagine. I mean, when I do gardening work and cut myself up, it looks like I shook hands with Freddy Krueger and takes forever to heal.

(No, I'm not diabetic, I was tested for that).

Short of being a fast healer (and I realize that as a diabetic, that is not always the case), I could not puzzle out how this could happen in such a truncated time space

The healing of wounds is a problem for people with diabetes who do not have good blood glucose control or have circulatory problems ,
So the reason is if you monitor the sugar levels then healing can be almost normal.

yah. it is surprising.normally if you are a diabetic the wound heals lately. in your case it is possible your blood sugar is high but you may not be acually diabetic. there are hundreds of cases all over the world doctors diagonise some persons as diabetic because the blood sugar level run errants, acutally you are not diabetic . those who are ahving uncrolled blood sugar levels need not be diabetic but all the symptoms such as following sympttoms pesists :-
frequent thirst, urination urge to urination, tiredness after urination, tiredness after eating due riaising blood sugar levels, insomnia, waekness, early morning sickness, lack of interst in any work, eating, irritability, lack of interest in any work inclduing sex etc.
thre reason for quick healting may be attributed to your immunity or to those antibiotics whih you are taking which may be a component of your daily dosge of drugs. whatever be the cause, it is really amazing!

You must be well controlled, as most others have already said. I have never had healing problems though, even when my sugar was high. It surprised us all, especially my surgeon. The only complication I did have was in no way diabetes related.

my husband is a diabetic who keeps tight control of his sugars and takes good care of himself, and he has no trouble with healing, this must be the case with you.
