It can take a LONG time for signs of HPV to show up. It can take several months and even years for symptoms of HPV to appear. That is why HPV is so common today. Most people are unaware they even have the virus and end up spreading it around unknowingly.

HPV can be detected by an abnormal pap smear. Genital warts are also a clear sign of HPV (all warts are caused by HPV).

There is also a HPV test that checks for genetic material (DNA) of HPV. This test is done like a pap smear where sample cells are collected from the cervix.

If a woman thinks she might have HPV then she should visit her OBGYN and get tested. Take care!

there's not necessary symptoms on hpv, people can have it and not know they have it until genital warts appear. and no it cannot be detected the next day, only when the virus spread.

the ONLY way to find out if you have HPV is if you have symptoms... you can still pass it even if you have no symptoms
