Clothing changes as the seasons change. Our food also changes. We go from eating a lot of salads and lighter meals to eating lighter soups (like chicken noodle) and finally to heartier soups, stews and chillis.

I walk around and open all the blinds and curtains on the windows, allowing as much solar gain to enter the house as possible. In the evening I shut all the blinds and curtains to keep in the heat.

Lap blankets come out of the cedar chests and are put on the couch and loveseat, so we can cover with a blanket, instead of touching the thermostat.

We fix anyplace the weather stripping may have become worn down, and is allowing a draft.

Since I live in the high mountain desert (Idaho) I can let a lot of daytime warmth in, just by opening windows, and letting the natural heat in, as the day warms up. I close the windows before the day cools off.

Since I cook everything from scratch, there is a lot of deydrating (apples today) and baking of items for the freezer (zuchinni bread today). That adds a lot of extra warmth to the house.

Also since we live on a farm, mud and manure are a daily part of life. As the weather changes, and the rains come, there's a LOT more laundry to do as everything gets pretty dirty. The heat from the machines also adds to the warmth of the house.

Lighting a few candles also adds a bit of heat, but phsycologically makes things seem warmer and cozier as they days get shorter.

Also take showers (not too hot or you strip your body oils) and apply lotion after a very light pat down with a towel. This will trap moisture from the shower in your skin, and you will avoid that winter dry itchy skin.

Go outside durning the daylight hours, and enjoy the sunlight. Keeps ones brain much happier.

Adapt your wardrobe to the appropriate season and your geographical latitude. Spring Summer Autumn Winter weather all in the same day. Blame Climate Change and do something.

I use my heating/cooling system as little as possible (keep from sweating in the summer, from freezing in the winter) so I remain acclimated to outside temps.
This also saves bundles of money on utilities and gives me a reason to wear fuzzy houseslippers or walk around mostly naked, depending on the season.

Just accept there is nothing you can do about the seasons.
If it's winter, wrap up warm. Summer, wear loose light fitting clothes. Spring and Autumn, wear lightweight but warm clothing, just in case.

Wear layers so you can pile on or peel off. There's no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothes!
