You could try your local landfill. Sometimes you could find drop-offs near your local supermarket.

I live in the lansing area, and I work by granger and they take pretty much anything for recycling. They have recycling bins(dumpster size). For newspapers, Cans, Plastics, etc. All you do is drive in and drop the stuff in the proper bin. It's really easy to do. The facilities are located on Grand River, towards Grand Ledge(M-100), just past Flying J. Or there is one in lansing on Wood Rd. There might even be a location closer for you.

completely depends on where you live. some cities have beautification projects which staff recycling drop off points. you can usually contact your chamber of commerce to find out if your city has such an organization. ours recycles soda bottles, corrugated cardboard, aluminum cans, and glass. you can also look in your local yellowpages for "recycling" to find places that will offer you money for your aluminum cans. unfortunately in parts of rural America some cities do not offer any options whatsoever and you may have to take your recycling out of town. Kudos to you for finding out!

Hey, I just place every thing in the blue bags we get. seems to work with me. Where my neighbors have 1-2 bags I may have 5-7 a week . My kids call me Mother Earth. hahaha. They pick it all up even the News Paper. I just put it all in the bags mixed, not problems so far.

It depends where you live.
In Ontario we have recycling pick-ups weekly.
Blue boxes for cans, bottles, & plastics.
Grey boxes for paper, box-board, & cardboard.
In cities, like Toronto, they have green bins for kitchen waste.
We have garden waste pick-ups (grass clippings & leaves).
These are composted at the dump, & sold Spring & Fall.
Check your Yellow Pages or Yahoo & Google for your town.

In Tyler you can take cardboard, glass, office paper, most types of plastic bottles and aluminum cans to the recycling center downtown on Bois D'arc. Unfortunately, they don't accept tin cans. If anyone knows where I can take those, please let me know.

Check with your local Department of Public Works. Many areas have a resource recovery agency, and they should be able to direct you there.
